Where is JON hiding?

Part of the answer, maybe the whole answer, is that he is up to his balls working as Chairman of Echo Entertainment Group, aka Star Casino.

I wonder whether he is still drawing a salary from the ARU? If he is, he does not seem to be bloody well earning it.

Where shoud he be?
Seriously.

The ARU have issued a statement about Quade saying they won't play it out in public.

We have games this weekend and next and the usual PR is being done.

If he was speaking everyday you would complain he was a media hog.

Maybe he is working in his office on his duties at CEO?

If he was speaking every day, and getting some good stuff about our game into the papers I would be absolutely delighted. Wouldn't you?

Maybe he is on holidays, or taking a sabbatical, or flying to the bloody moon, for all we know.

If he is not in Pretoria, it's a good indication of how much time he is spending at Echo.I cannot recall when he hasn't traveled with the Wobs in the past
BTW I read in the papers he has been involved in Machiavellian games to unseat a board member at Echo this week.

Maybe QC (Quade Cooper) has been deliberately set up as a publicity magnet bad guy by the ARU.

Vince McMahon at WWF (or WWsomething) has made millions out of doing this in the "Pro Wrestling" play acting scene in the States. The punters love having someone to hate, someone who cheats, someone to boo and heckle etc. As much as they want their heros, they need anti-heros, to make the heros more heroic.

Rugby needs bad guys and good guys to take the game to the masses, It engenders passion and tribalism which sports thrive on, and more importantly for the beancounters, this ensures sales of Merch, and bums on seats at venues.

Win win all round. Very sound leadership and strategy from JO'N and the ARU folk in the St Leonards Bunker.

Perhaps I am giving too much credit to the ARU as somehow I don't think that the collective brains trust from HQ ARU have the ability to firstly think this up, and secondly actually execute this as a strategy.

It says absolutely nothing about his dealings with echo besides what your making up.

You have zero idea of his contractual dealings.

Sorry made up?
My perception is that he attends most Wobs matches.
For him not to attend would not be consistent with this perception.
I did not make up press reports in his involvement in the removal of a board member.
Is my perception about his attendance completely wrong?
If not where is your issue?

HJ we have ready made objects of our "hate" in the teams we play - do we really need to bring this inside the tent?

You said it yourself, he attends "most" matches, not all. You have no idea nor proof if his dealings with echo have any impact whatsoever which was your initial statement. You have connected dots yourself.

The thing is, if a CEO of something like a sporting team are doing there job you shouldn't hear about them at all, there not playing.

What is he supposed to do?

If he comes out he can either play conciliator or disciplinarian

One he appears to be bending over for Quade, the other he is demonstrating his anti-Queensland agenda.

Sometimes it is the best and hardest option is to do nothing.

So no one likes my intentional bad guy slant. - Didn't think so. Moving on.

JO'N has about 500000 pre tax reasons to sort it out.

How he does it is up to him and his 500000 reasons. That is why he is allegedly worth that amount.

To be fair to JON and the crew at St Leonards, while there may have been dithering over the issue of QC (Quade Cooper) contract for several months, this particular spot fire only sprung up on the Weekend. Sorting these things out is not quite as simple as pouring water on a spot fire, and it can take some time for the containment measures to work.

The "No public debate yet, but we have writted to Mr Cooper" is probably the only rational strategy at the moment. There is very little to be gained for open and public contract negotiations to be held via the media.

I get the feeling that in the chess game of contract negotiations, Team QC (Quade Cooper) has adopted a strategy that would be adequate for a game of chequers. Played on the same board isn't it? The GrandMasters that are the Establishment and the Brand represented by JO'N and the ARU will grind Team QC (Quade Cooper) down and spit them out.

Given that they stated they would not discuss this publicly, maybe they are doing something in house. Who knows? I guess the next few days will answer one way or another.
His very busy work schedule is certainly an issue for debate, but maybe not in this exact context.

You have zero idea of his contractual dealings.

The fact that most have the same level of knowledge on what has been going on behind the scenes with the QC (Quade Cooper) saga hasn't stopped anyone from crucifying him. If its ok to criticise a player without knowing what's going on then surely it's ok to ask questions of the boss with the same level of knowledge.

The one thing this whole mess tells me is that a 2 week break with no Rugby is too long. We need some sort of controversial ref call to argue about again.

Yeah I know, apples and oranges and all that. But we don't even know where JON's flags are. For all we know he could be miles outside of them yet it's not ok to ask the question? Edit: That question is rhetorical.
