At the risk of sounding blissfully naive & idealistic , if I was charged with putting together a colts team for a club , one of the last things I would do would be to
approach established colts players from other clubs.
The acceptance of an offer (if tendered ) from my club by a player at another club , may have all sorts of implications about that player & his value to my club in the future.
I consider a players attitude towards such issues as loyalty towards his club ,fellow players ,coaches & other personnel , reasons for playing Rugby & what he feels
a player should be expected to contribute to his club as opposed to what he can get out of a club , of primary imprtance & in many ways as important as his athletic abilities.
I am speaking specifically about colts players now , & I realise that there may be good reasons for an experienced player to change clubs at a senior level which are acceptable.
But a Rugby club consists of many individuals who bring their particular set of attitudes & values to their club , which in turn go to form the personality & culture of that
club, & I would look closely at those attributes or lack of , before wanting a colts player in my team who is eager to jump ship .
These are general observations based on my experience in club Rugby , & are not meant to be directed at any particular individual.

I agree done that but players coming from school don't always make the right decision on which club to join and make decisions based on what there mates are doing etc

I would imagine that opportunity at the new club, or dissatisfaction at the old club would be the driver behind the vast majority of any Colts moving on.
But maybe that's just my imagination.

Woo hoo - good to see a local lad play with the Rats and not go to Uni. I'm looking at you Phi Waugh.

Just kidding son - you're one of the finest products of the Narrabeen Tigers.

I don't think it will take Jim long to get to first grade. Normally I frown on things like this but fellows like him are the exception, as regards both his robust play and his rugby maturity.

Better than anything is that he is a league convert (Oz U/15s) who will stay in union after being recruited by St. Augustines and then Scots.

Not to the point, if I had one, but would Stewart be playing rugby union next year, and hopefully longer, if those schools had not intervened?

Olivier Damas ( Newington 2012 ) to Randwick? That is AFTER he represents Belgium in Dubai in a European World Cup qualifier!!! Well Done Olivier!

Whisper came out of Arden St that Brogan Roods and another are at Randwick training in Firsts. Myth?

Brogan roods and Horowitz have joined Randwick and are not playing colts and are being looked at as 1st grade players.

Anyone know where Tom Staniforth is heading?

Has been training with the Brumbies, not sure of which club he'll join after this.

Being a Canberra boy you would think he will play in Canberra

No guarantee, especially if he needs to cut his teeth in Colts first. Whilst 1st grade in Canberra can be very strong, the colts competition is variable - player numbers are tough across majority of the clubs.

Neori Nadruku may have also been advised to seek out a Sydney move for colts.

I think Ben Norcott from Vikings has been in both lads ears.

Hoping Roods can stay injury free.

He has had a pretty bad run of things in recent years.

    Unfortunate if not unsurprising.

If they are to stay in Canberra, they should go to the clubs that they or their schools have been associated with. In this case both boys were in the Easts junior development squads.

For Neori however, I'd understand a move to Queanbeyan Whites, as most of his classmates presumably will end up there. Tom is a Grammar lad, and therefore Easts would be a natural fit - especially with all the other Brumbies players being allocated to them this coming season. Training with and being mentored by Etienne Oosthuizen would be a great development tool.

He's been rumored to be considering Royals or Vikings. Neori will most likely go to Whites
