It’s possible that my early ‘Biggsy support’ may have been premature

Mate, you can’t hook for the ball when your face is being rammed through your ass

Man, I missed last week's game, the first Aus game in eons, only to get up early for this pile of garbage.

To me the back 3 were the main downfall. The ABs targetted Beale and Hodge in particular, who were horrid, Beale in particular. Aside from Quade Cooper Beale is the most mercurial rugby talent I've ever seen. They missed Folau and even DHP, his one game personal nightmare aside.

I don't know what you do with Beale?? He can't play 15 after that performance. Every team will kick to him. Hodge is too slow.

I don't know why Speight isn't on the radar?

Perth was an enigma of sorts and I called it several pages back that the AB's would be a different animal this week and the best thing that happened for the AB's was that loss. They always come back hard, tough and ruthless. 36-0 is as dominant as you get. Had they retained 15 on the park in Perth they probably would've won against the best Wallabies performance in ages. It was 6-4 trys with 14 Men for 41 minutes after all.

The Hype from both media camps during the week was disgraceful and made me want to puke, especially NZ, who had no shortage of knives and illusionary expertise rhetoric including alluding Hansen was panicking, our men were past it and we had a shortage in test-match locks. Patrick Tuipulotu passed with honours. Shame on them all and they need to all go and bury their heads in a bucket of stinking pig-shit for being the shitheads they are.

What stood out for me:

The loose 3 experiment was dismantled in Perth due to the red card, yet it showed some glimpses of what was to come.

Tonight they were exceptional and what we expect to see in the AB's. They dominated the contact area entirely and Hansen & Co proved their wisdom. Reid was a monster in the tackle area while Savea was the attacking pit bull with six legs, it seemed, and Cane was doing both.

RM was all class and able to show his brilliance with front foot attack and his high ball takes were as good as I've ever seen, including his defensive work, let's hope his shoulder isn't too bad?

Smith and Ioane were rightfully dropped, Smith not his best back from injury while Ioane just not hungry enough, it seems. Both their positions are now truly in jeopardy.

All the doubters and haters of SBW need to watch this game again. His leadership was exceptional as was his gameplay. He kept it simple, played the lines and drew in defenders. Simple, effective and settled the midfield allowing ALB to twitch is feet.

As for Coles and the yellow, he was warned to tighten his play. Had he not had that warning a penalty would likely have been the only outcome. 'Close to the neck' is not 'around the neck' and he cleaned out a ruck, totally legal. What made it look 'away from the ruck' was the ensuing judo spin which landed White metres away and he did milk it for all its worth, as he should.

So what happened then? A 7 man scrum destroyed an 8 man scrum.

Perth was the best thing for the AB's and tonight the AB's plan is starting to look the goods for the WC and Hansen, with his incredible record, kept saying, be patient, we'll get it right. Meanwhile, the media had other ideas. What a bunch of disgraceful bottom feeders.

Just incredibly disappointed with this performance. Yes the all blacks stepped up but we just went missing. The 7 man AB scrum dominating our 8 man wallaby scrum to get a penalty said it all.

It shows what happens when you lose the forward battle you lose the war.

We just don’t seem the ability to change our game plan when clearly need to.

I am on a Fiji island full of kiwi’s so looking to lie low over the next few days as that performance was embarrassing. As to me that was an insipid wallabies performance that beggars belief after last weeks performance.

It was interesting to watch our scrum absolutely disintegrate into oblivion. That was supposed to be a strength. Losing a scrum to 7 men? Genuinely laughable.
Before the game all the talk was about how we have some of the best props in the world. Not sure what to make of that.
On thing is for sure we missed Arnold as Coleman and rodda offered nothing.

Arnold was a monster in Perth and was sorely missed last night.

Leaving aside the ABs well deserved dominance.

I counted about 5 line breaks where there was no one in support and we got turned over
We didn’t challenge any of the kick offs and allowed the AB player to take the ball cleanly
We allowed the AB player to attack the ball without a clean out on at least a dozen occasions

These aren’t skill deficits, they’re EFFORT deficits

At the same time, you’ve got Kafe, Genia etc coming up with ‘technical’ reasons why they lost 40-zip

Fucking pathetic. If you don’t want the jersey, hand it to somebody who does.

When you have the halfback (TJP) contest the tackle breakdown and win twice is a worry.

The only ones who seemed to be panicing were the click bait journalists who seem to get a stiffy whenever the All Blacks lose. Although I avoid talk back radio as well, because of all the sobbing.

The general consensus of everyone I talked to last week was that the loss was the best thing to happen, to get rid of any thoughts of complacency going into the world cup. There was quiet confidence that they would win. If we hadn't had the red card, we would have likely won in Perth. But then, would they have dropped so many players? The loss in Perth was the best thing that could have happened to the ABs pre RWC.

As much as I am quick to complain about SBW, he was superb last night. Wallaby defenders had to mark him hard and it created gaps out wide all night long. If it is SBW to start and Laumape to finish off games, I would be happy with that.

From Hansen:

Just so it’s not all doom and gloom for Australia, there was a strong vote of confidence from an unlikely source.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen said he wanted Australia to win the World Cup … if New Zealand doesn’t.

“It’s a lot better than it was last week. The lesson you’ve got to learn is that if you’ve got a bit of rugby talent, you’ve got to turn up with the right attitude,” Hansen said.

“I would like to wish Australia all the best too. Whilst we have some fierce battles, we do enjoy them, they’re good men and they’re very similar to ourselves. So if we can’t win, we’d like them to.”

He's a class act!

The Scrums won't be under that much pressure if the Hooker could hook the ball and get the ball the Fuck out to the Number 8
In most cases the Refs are playing on at Scrum time if the Scrum is down at the Front but the Ball is out the back with the number 8.
All Blacks tonight know Australia do NOT hook and the ball dose not pass the second row and the attacking team apply pressure and fuck them over.
The Modern day Hooker in Australia is not taught how to hook a ball any more.. So I Was told on this forum years ago.
Bigsy that rule changed years ago. The Hooker has to hook the ball back now. The problem was that the scrum was under too much pressure

Other than Coles' moment of stupidity (can't help but wonder where Garces would've gone with Jonker's "around the neck" bait that Peyper ignored) that was the most complete AB performance in years.

All the under-fire guys (primarily SBW, PT & Moody but also Read, Whitelock & others) had strong games & what was really pleasing was that the intensity didn't drop off with the arrival of the subs.

There will be some anxiety re: Mo'unga's shoulder but I think the AB camp will be generally pretty pleased with themselves. And now they're officially only the second best side in the world they've got another thing to aim for other than Bill :).

Amazing. Somehow even when you lose you find a way to win.

Enjoy the well deserved win from last night. We’ll enjoy ours from last week too thanks.

Possibly bar White and Tupou everyone was a shade of themselves just a week earlier. But for me the two keys were Arnold and JOC (James O'Connor).

Arnold was missed not just for his impact but for his leadership getting the pigs to follow suit. And something was fundamentally different that left JOC (James O'Connor) unleashed. I’d add that Hooper was not double ganged and didn’t have enough to rise to the occasion. Losing against a 7 man scrum said it all.

Finally I’m with Adam, body language prior to kick off was not a team coming in on a high. Normal service resumed.

What do we expect?
ABs play in Australia and we welcome them to our country.
Wallabies play in NZ and they unleash an invitation to battle.
We're beaten before the kick off.

I actually also wonder if one of the Wallabies strengths last week was a weakness this week, where as last week when White took a couple of paces before passing, the ABs were diving around to stop hom, and getting caught out a little wider, this week they just left one to tackle him and the rest seemed to move up to defend out wider. Main reason was still tighties just got stuck in so rest could do their job though.

I'm not so sure about that, Derpus. I honestly think the All Blacks are mortal. They've been beaten a few times more than I would have thought and I don't think this current group is at quite the lofty peak that the previous two world cup cycles had. I think they might get knocked off here.

Theyve been beaten once? Like last time.

They probably phoned it in because they were playing the Wallabies and not expecting us to somehow string together a perfect game for the first time in 15 years. Plus the red.

Nek minnut they are pushing 8 men off a scrum with 7.

Weve been hearing 'oh the All Blacks arent all that this year' since the dawn of time and its almost never the case.
