That BBC rolling maul is a weapon

Think you would give the goal kickers a leave pass in yesterday’s wind .

R1 v ACGS 0/3
R2 v GT 7/11
R3 v BGS 2/7

9/21 aside from IGS so it’s pretty clear wind aside they need a kicker for NC N TSS as their solid history over past few years of scoring more tries than the opppsution and losing multiple games and 2 premierships off the back of poor conversion rates.

Fair call , not a great conversion rate at all .

I think BBC are a very good side but their one issue is defense. Nudgee held a clean sheet v Ipswich with 14 players for half the match and 13 players for 10 mins in the second half. BBC let in at least three tries from Ipswich with all of their team of the field. The BBC centers are putting on tries on their opposition but I think they will run into a brick wall against the big Nudgee centers who keep getting better each week. Nudgee are getting their place kicks whereas BBC haven’t fixed this area from last year which cost them the premiership. It should be a very close game. I’d still tip BBC slightly but if it comes down to place kicks again, the school will never live this down. I think BBC will smash TSS. Ipswich had a terrible set piece again. Grammar were very good but couldn’t finish off the job and they missed a gettable kick towards the end of the match albeit with a strong wind.

A number of the kicks missed yesterday were from point blank range (no wider than 5m to the left/right of the posts) - kicks you would expect the kicker in the U13A team to knock over in their sleep. Can see this bitting them again come the back end of the season.

Reports of the demise of Southports chances are premature. But, boy what a game it will be this week between BBC and TSS.

All the games this weekend should be highly contested and there are no clear underdogs

- The Southport School v Brisbane Boys’ College

- Brisbane State High School v Toowoomba Grammar School

- Anglican Church Grammar School v Ipswich Grammar School

- St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace v Brisbane Grammar School

Haven't seen a round of GPS this competitive in a couple of years. Usually there is a least one game you could guarantee as a win. Good luck getting 4 from 4 this weekend.

Very true, I could see all these games going either way.

Yeah they were - one clear and obvious head butt (foul play) and 2 pretty clear yellows from the churchie #7. I do feel for him in that he was about to drop him safely, but when the tackle assist enters the tackle, the onus is on the original tackler to leave the ball carrier in a safe position.

The ref was extremely hard on lifting tackles so the flanker was yellow carded twice, resulting in the red.. the second tackle was arguably legal however the ref wasn't having any of it

Yeah absolutely nothing illegal with inverting a player so his feet are where his head should be ..

I think BBC have got this. BBC by 15. This is the only match that matters this weekend.

Then..its going to be the Irish v the Scotsmen to slug it out on Miskin for the outright title.

Does anyone know if the restrictions announced for the Gold Coast will affect this weekend's games?

Thanks
