That's actually a really good idea. Even without the NRC this year, they should still play this derby. Would create a bit of interest I think.

He is the scrum coach.

If I were Bell, I’d either look at the Reds or remain loyal and stay at the Tahs.
At the Reds there’s the opportunity to form a scrummaging partnership with Tupou which could complement both at test level.
There’s no real gain by moving to Rebels or Force, and at the Brumbies he would get less game time.

As a rugby fan I want him to stay at the Tahs, they need everyone they can get

This was from a few pages ago, a bit of a throwaway line but I wanted to challenge it.

What does this even mean? That NSWRU would actively sabotage expansion into Western Sydney because it could upset the barrow for GPS school graduates?

It's not like the Waratahs squad is overwhelmingly stacked with GPS recruits. I only count five from the starting team this weekend off the top of my head (Bell, Harris, Sinclair, Ramm, Maddocks). I'd dare say that figure is as low as it's been in a long time, with plenty of key players coming from out of Sydney or from public schools.

I've been as critical of RA and NSWRU board make-up as anyone, and of course they need some wider perspective there. But I can't see any evidence they have actively overlooked areas for the reasons you suggest. It's a bit tin-foil hat really.

I'd think the NSWRU would be desperate to tap into some of the talented players, clubs and schools in Western Sydney. It's just a question of resourcing, effort and strategy. That's where they have failed, as first-hand accounts from guys like WorkingClassRugger have suggested.

It doesn't really bother me to see privates schools poach players, provide them a good education and a quite reasonable rugby education without the NSWRU spending a great deal

My concern is more with NRL clubs filling those same silos with kids not in a rugby pathway

Depends on what ‘these people’ are actually trying to achieve, if they picked a team you agreed with would you have shared a link to it and been talking about it?

I agree all these teams of the week are subjective, however watching both games, O'Connor was very, very good and young Harrison definitely did not control the game or play as well as O'Connor......if it was close I would understand....but it wasn't

I asked the question of who selected this team of the week but it is no one specific.

They always try and get a mix of players in from each team, it's probably the team of the round that I pay least attention to.

What i was getting at was the intent of the those who make these selections might be to present some controversial selections so that people share the article, comment on it and go to the website. If they just selected something everyone agreed with then they aren’t as likely to engage on the issue.

And it did look as though the team lifted. He's coached a lot of the younger blokes at U20s level.
