NSW CAS Rugby 2021

WLF

Arch Winning (36)
The game ended with about 5-10 mins to go, there was an injury to a New boy, so common sense prevailed.
He is now Ok!!!

Score was Waves 29 New 21.

Newington were good, Waves sloppy and too fancy!

That is a close game. well done to Knox for holding the Joeys powerhouse to a 5 point margin. Looks like this year Trinity, Knox Waves and Barker are all genuine chances for the Plume Shield.

Hi WLF, thanks for the update mate. Judging by the scores it looks like it good game of rugby at Death Valley unfortunately it had to end with a serious injury and also good to hear that the Kid is ok.

All the Best to Waverley for the year.
Cheers L2Scrum

Trinity were very hungry and determined to beat this young Cranbrook side following after a narrow loss by 2 points last year. Cranbrook opened the scoring which led the game for 10 minutes then tries were followed up by (Olly White-13) and then a double scored by (Theo Kidd-11) when I mean I have never seen someone’s fast and talented as this kid I mean it this man is 6,4 with speed carrying some big size on him where has this kid been for the past couple of years? However towards the end of the game trinity had taken off 7 of the starters and replaced them with 2XV players when the score was 33-10 with this being said Cranbrook scored 2 tries within 5 minutes with the final score being 33-27 in Summer Hill.

Standout players (Theo Kidd-11 (Olly White-13) (Hunter Hannaford-10) (Kai Roberts-7) (Alisi leao-8) (Jack Casimir-12)

Important to note that Brook were without Oliver Torrance, Zac McConnell, Ethan Flanagan & Matthew Yetton. All Yr12 boys who will undoubtedly form the core of the backline for the CAS season; resultantly, the backline which played against Trinity was typified by numerous Yr11 2's players making their first formal involvement in the Firsts. Although, to be fair, Trinity did play a good game and capitalised clinically on Brook errors in order to win.

Also it was interesting to see such a chasm in the Trinity opens, with the Trinity 2's losing 55-5 with Gus Renow and Otto Serfontein standouts for Cranbrook.

Overall it looks like we're in for another cracker season of schoolboy footy :)

Agree, early indications are for a cracking CAS season with at least 4 maybe 5 teams a genuine shot at the Plume Shield. Interesting observation Rugby League - Trinity are a bit of an enigma to me. I saw the games v Barker last year as a match official and the 1st and 2nd were v competitive and really could have gone either way. The 16A's on the other hand was a real miss-match and cricket score put on by Barker. I sense that the best 15 from Summer Hill are more than capable of pushing the big three (W,K and B) and could win the CAS, unless injuries test their depth which looks a little fragile.
Let hope they can keep their best team on the park all season.
