Padua vs St Edmund's will be played at Padua's main oval at Kedron on Wednesday afternoon. Bringing footy back to the school campus which will be awesome to see with the grandstand hopefully filled to capacity. Will Lauries look to use their artificial field on top of the mater car park? That would be a first for the AIC.

That would be pretty spectacular but I think I read Lauries will play Villa at Souths down at Annerley.

Whats Happening with Villa this year?,there was talks this was there year, led by a couple of rugby league super stars?

Ah yes Ottawa, Villanova has been playing with a few critical injuries however did just beat an undefeated Pats side who were expected to be one of the favourites to win the premiership. Lets not forget Pats defeated Iona in a close one and Padua with ease. Safe to say this comment didn't age well after the weekend eh bud.
Cheers.

Pats defeated Padua more convincingly than Lauries did and Villa knocked off Pats so on paper it's anyone's game. If Villa shut down the Lauries 10 kicking game and out enthuse the men in black it is anyone's game ..

Absolutely Arsenal,
There is no doubt Laurences are clear favourites to win the premiership with an impressively strong side, however coming in as underdogs, Villanova have a new and improved backline with Henry "The Prince" Holt showcasing why he is known as 2015 Anthony Milford in his previous return outing as flyhalf against Pats. I have nightmares just thinking about Bukowski and Reardon combining in the centres as they will be a horror story for the strong Laurences backs. I can not wait to get home, grab a denzel, and watch this thriller on the tellie.

VNC vs SLC should be a good game this coming afternoon down at Annerley with SLC being clear favourites due to their 0 losses after Round 4. Congratulations Lauries. However, what are the chances that VNC cause another upset this week like they did last Saturday against SPC?

Fairly certain both schools should have some decent size in crowds as well so should be a great atmosphere for some Tuesday night Rugby down at Chipsy Wood.

My predictions for the weekend:

SLC v VILLA - SLC by 5+
PAD v SEC - SEC by 3+
ASH v IONA - ASH by 20+
SPLC v SPC - SPC by 15+

Good Luck Gentlemen!

Was it Padua parents yelling cheats? Who at? Can't have been the ref in the 9A's game. Penalty count was apparently a cricket score against MCA.

I think SLC by 20+. Villanova pulled off a good performance on Saturday but I can't see them pulling it off two weeks in a row after the inconsistent start to the season. Good luck to them tonight though and for the record books it would be a great sight to see the Villanova boys pull off a Chipsy Wood Miracle. With the huge Lauries crowd predicted and all the hype around the game and the Lauries boys knowing whats on the line tonight, I can see SLC putting a full 70 minute performance together and demolishing the inconistent and nervous VNC hopefuls.

Nig

The cheats thing was in the 10As - with Padua up 10-5 and 5 minutes to go the Padua hooked suffered a neck injury after a collapsed scrum - he stayed down for medical treatment and time ran out so MCA lost - the MCA spectators levelled cheat smears against the injured player for laying down - classy! It is well known among AIC schools MCA have had the rub of the refereeing green for donkeys since tas days haha - I went to columbans and remember the Marist brothers reffing haha

My predictions so far this year have been off. Thought Padua would of been more of a threat and looks like Villa are now finding some form. An upset tonight by Villa and it really makes things interesting. This year has to be one of the closest since the 3 way tied premiership of 2018. But that being said, Lauries may end up going 7-0 if they can manage to get through the next two games. The Pats vs Lauries game at Curlew Park is shaping up to be a big game and with it being the back to shorncliffe round there will be plenty of hype.

My picks for this round are:

Lauries
Padua
Marist
Pats

Also, would love to see in future seasons for schools who have their grounds external to their school campus like Lauries and Padua to maybe play one game at their school campus main oval. I think there is something special about it and if it was a mid week afternoon game you could get basically your whole school to attend which would make the atmosphere feel intimidating for away teams. Obviously schools like Pats and Villa have built up their campuses which would not allow it to happen though. There's always a good atmosphere around Mcmahon oval (Marist) or Davine oval (Iona) that the other schools would be secretly jealous about. Tomorrow's game at Padua will be a good test to see if it would be worth doing it in the future.

Did you hear these smears yourself MA? First I have heard of it and I very much doubt it. If it is true I would be bitterly disappointed with those responsible, no one likes to see a boy go down with an injury, especially a neck one. I spoke to the coach of the MCA 10A's later and he was far more concerned for the boys condition than the result of the game. I hope the boy is OK and recovers quickly.
