Wallabies 2021

Brumby Runner

9 Lonergan 10 Lolesio 12 Simone if you’re a Brumbies supporter.

9 McDermott 10 Lolesio 12 Foketi if you’re not

As a Wallabies supporter, I'd like to see, 9 McDermott, 10 Lolesio, 12 Paisami, 13 Ikitau if both JOC (James O'Connor) and To'omua are out.

Come to think about it, I'd rather just JOC (James O'Connor) in place of Lolesio if both are fit.

A) - Thank god the french are under strength coz now we are seriously to.

How many guys from our best 23 are not available/eligible?
Latu, Arnold, Skelton, Mcmahon, White, JOC (James O'Connor), To'omua, Kerevi, Petaia (maybe)?

Then guys who would otherwise be in the squad
Kaituu, Rodda, perese, Vunivalu, Dhp

B) - Quades in town! Completely eligible with +60caps and a better call up if required then harrison/kuenzle/donaldson/mcintyre.

Okay it’s not quite curtains for JO’C or To’omua yet (and Gordon).

“ O’Connor, who was expected to wear the No.10 jersey, is being managed at training and is battling a groin injury.

To’omua, who was competing with Hunter Paisami for the No.12 jersey but was expected to play a significant part in the series, has been in Canberra nursing a neck injury.

It’s hoped the Wallabies inside back, who has featured at the past two World Cups, will arrive on the Gold Coast on Sunday.”

It is the bench that becomes incredibly crap

No one is even considering Hodge at 13?
I think if nothing else we'll need his experience in the backline.

I agree going a 6/2 split is probably going to be ideal.

Has he learned how to tackle yet?

Do any of the above have the ability or experience to come close (or ever come close) to him? 134 Super Rugby caps and 70 tests.

Worlds best tackler or not - he would still walk into the 10 jersey at Tahs, Rebels and Force still and if To'omua and JOC (James O'Connor) are really out (let's hope not) there is no one better available.

Now let's be clear - this is a drastic solution to a crisis. Let's hope it doesn't come to it. But if we need another 10 training in the squad just in case - I'd rather pick one of the most successful and experienced 10s in the last decade then dig deep to another kid who has questionable status as a professional rugby player.

If Rennie was at all interested in that sort of option, presumably Bernard Foley would have been on the radar.

I think Rennie will go with options already in Australia that are inexperienced rather than trying to bring back a player not contracted here and towards the end of their career.
