Queensland Premier Rugby: North’s vs Souths is on GEM this week. France vs Wallabies will return to main channel 9HD

Grand Final will also be on GEM, The Grand Final weekend will see the Hospital Challenge Cup decider, played at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday, 28 August at 7:30pm following the culmination of the Wallabies Bledisloe clash with the All Blacks in Wellington.

After just watching rugby heaven, and have been thinking about it a bit, watching and talking to mates in Oz, I really believe that Stan/nine getting rugby is I believe the best thing that has happened for Rugby in Australia since hosting the WC in 2003.
I know we all talk about great viewing figures etc, and easy to dimiss them as we never had FTA before so hard to compare, but in my opinion, it not just the FTA but the brilliant promotion of the game that it's getting at moment.
You wonder if Foxtel looks at it and says maybe if only.......

No, actually the Waratahs 2014 premiership was the best thing to happen to Australian rugby after 2003.

But Stan has been doing an excellent job, I agree.

yeh and usually after super rugby would cancel my kayo subscription but Stan offers such a great package of other rugby products I will likely end up keeping it all year round

Yep RN, mates say that, one was saying he loves you can click on team, bring up their games etc. Shows how Streaming is going to be the way forward for sports watching. I must admit to being a bit pissed it didn't happen a few years back when I was still there (though to be fair missus thought I watched too much rugby anyway and didn't need it).

Yeah they’re good ratings, highest ratings for a wallabies test match in a few years if I’m not mistaken, the figures are greater then the ratings for the Bledisloe Cup and more then any of the wallabies matches in the 2019 RWC.

And best of all not only was the game entertaining but we also got the result which will help the ratings as we head into the RC.

This brings back the point of what is failing with Super Rugby / TT with lopsided results.

As the ratings for the third test was because we had tight contest between 2 sides that went down to the wire. Just like Super Rugby AU final with close contests between Brumbies and Reds. It is simple we get close contests, and oz sides winning and lastly quality rugby the fans will come back (and no we don't need to benchmark this against the ABs or NZ super rugby sides every time we play someone else).

Excellent to see their is life still in the game and opportunity to build it up. Obviously an audience out their waiting to see good competitive Aussie professional rugby.

We just need more product of the right standard and what RN highlights above is it: It is simple we get close contests, and oz sides winning and lastly quality rugby the fans will come back (and no we don't need to benchmark this against the ABs or NZ super rugby sides every time we play someone else)


As I keep advocating, a good AU domestic comp could thrive if we can let go of the old Super Rugby concept and construction. Something akin to the NRC but more towards a professional level. There is a still a place for our Super Rugby teams but they may need to be take a back seat to a new rugby construct or we add to them to build more teams.

SRAU and TT can be more of a European Rugby Champions Cup concept towards the the end or even better, mixed in through the year.
