For Scots this weekend 13's go down to F's, 14's down to E's with a lot of extras for the E's, 15s only 2 teams due to Glengarry, 16s down to E's and 12 Opens teams.
Many thanks Propsarespeedy, Buthave I read correctly that Scots go down to the 12ths. That is about as many as Joeys in the opens

31-31 all FT New Score on the bell ……..
On first glance, my initial impression is that both teams have a capacity to score tries. If so, were these tries score out wide.because we could see some really exciting Rugby in this year's GPS. Particularly, now Shore have taken a turn for the better and Joeys also have displayed against Marist Canberra a capacity to move the ball out wide.

Considering this is the first time in I think 7 years that Newington hasn't lost to scots. Newington can be VERY pleased with a result like this. We didn't get too see much of the backline this game attack but due to the wet conditions that was predicatable.

I only saw 2 of the tries from Newington and 1 from scots but if I am not mistaken they weren't scored out wide.

Greetings avid readers, all posts saying Newington and Joeys are the strongest prem contenders is absolutely gobbledygook nonsense. Riverview (2021 undefeated premiers, which, we ALL know, should be acknowledged as official prems as we destroyed every team by 50+ points) have a very strong forward pack and one of the best backlines Riverview have produced in recent years. I strongly believe that Riverview will end the season as outright undefeated prems followed by a weak Shore and Joeys team respectively.
Knox won the 1sts 33-19 and the 16As 17-0. So…

Hi All

After watching the New v Scots 1sts game, I was fairly imprssed by both teams esp for 1st trial. New have experimented with some new backline positions. Worked ok and would like to see them play in the dry. Think they could use more speed out wide. As mentioned, the centre pairing played well today but will need to work better in defence. New forwards were betterb than previos years. Lokked fitter and set piece was better. No to say they can't/need improving but conditions weren't great. Scots was good not great. Did Scots have a full strength team ? Forwards were strong but they will struggle in the backs. Held their own but season is long. Scots seem to have depth if the seconds score is anything to go by. New will struggle if injuries happen but New has never had great depth. Fingers crossed New players saty well.

What a scoreline for Shore. Great 1st round at Northbridge Shore v Joeys. Should pack the stand. New play Auggies next week at Pittwater. It will be interesting to compare scores ( not that it mean a great deal ).

Any other scores from around the grounds ? Kings, View ?

completely agree, Joeys vs Shore should be one hell of a match! Will anyone be videoing it or know if it will be live-streamed because I will probably be at Newington to watch the game against St Augs.

Any idea on Grammar Pius?
From what i have seen so far, the Shore community are going to get excited about that result. 2nds and 3rds have been thereabouts in recent years and the school needs a decent team and the focus on the nee rugby program looks like it may yield results this year.
