one thing is for sure in the "modern" game.
Players move around mostly looking for opportunity.
Opportunity to join a winning culture
Opportunity to play under a certain coach
Opportunity to play a higher grade
Opportunity to play with specific other players
Opportunity to build a "brand" or profile
The days of picking a club and becoming a stalwart is not as ingrained as it once was.

All clubs are out there recruiting, the clubs that secure transfers obviously have something to offer over the place the player is leaving.
Want to agree but Kuhn prendegast Obano playing a lot in Reggie’s maybe even 3rd grade when others return from rep n injuries. Zander no shoe in for mine but luckily Uni rotate front rows n keep fresh players plus have front row injuries. Reckon we will struggle to make final this year given current form.

Norths need to do something major to stop next years exodus n continual crappy run. Colts have improved but lost some very winnable games n points via mismanagement.

I think most of the norths troop that moved to UQ followed the Reggies coach, Ox. Sometimes mates just want to play/work together.

Andrew Ready might be turning out for Easts in the coming weeks, according to Aidan Toua on club land.

Oppostion teams will be loving that. Imagine Ready getting egged on by the blokes in the Butchery or Glue Factory, that’s a sin binning waiting to happen.

As Reg mentions they don’t even need him at the moment. I honestly hope he isn’t back in Brissy because the Reds are looking to sign him for hooker depth. I don’t reckon he’s played Super Rugby standard footy for a number of years.

you left out opportunity to improve their bank balance. It's not a criticism either. But a mere observation

Word is the QRU sent a list of available Drua players to the clubs this week. Anyone heard who is going where?
Interesting. You would think GPS and Wests with their Fijian connections. It would be great if they were all encouraged to play at Norths.

I wonder what the process would be, I'm guessing clubs make a pitch to the players? You would think most of them would be needing some accommodation to live in Brisbane for the remainder of the season. Clubs that are willing to offer some free/subsided accom and maybe other incentives probably get an advantage.

They would need to be getting on the books and playing games ASAP to qualify for finals.

I don’t think QRU should be dictating things like weather days and whether games should proceed, they don’t have the resources to inspect each ground on game day and it would only cause extra friction if the clubs are the ones paying for ground maintenance costs anyway

Clubs just need to be smarter about it
I disagree Wests took the selfish route and elected to play Bond when the rest of the round was cancelled. If they had of not played fair chance the QRU would have just wiped the round or split points between clubs. Now clubs have to play on what was a designated competition bye round and I know that some clubs will struggle to field teams that weekend due to player already booking trips away etc.

Word out of Brothers is they are ready to push the cancellation button if the rain stays solid. They've got 3 weekends in a row of home games and don't want to risk the main field becoming a mud bath.
Maybe the should stop all the extra use it gets like Touch football and Juniors school holiday camps.
