Guys if we carry on doing what we have been doing, what are the chances of success? Managers make things happen - has Rennie made things happen? I think he has done a decent job considering the issues but is that enough to turn this ship around?
I think we need surgery and not nursing.

I am something of a radical and if it was up to me I would give the job to DC. A specialist in turning teams around, with lots of changes and similar results.
Not sure who his assistants would be but he would be my pick every day. Similar guy to McQueen, the last choice for the Tahs and would be the last choice for Wallaby coach by the blazers. He will make the tahs successful and I'm certain he could do the same for Wallabies. He is the only Aussie who I think is capable of doing the job we all want to be done.

The players are clearly very supportive of Rennie. I can’t see giving him the chop improving morale / feeling within the group.
I think this showed in the Wales match. It had me nervous that it only takes a team to drop off by 10% to lose badly and it could have happened being the last game of the year, injuries, unavailable players.

It's not about morale or feelings it is just a standard thing a new coach brings. I think the guys want to impress him to prove their position in the team.

They were also supportive of Cheika and McKenzie. It means nothing. Only results count.
And by results $$$$$$$$$'s

Let’s see if he can accomplish something first, before we go appointing test coaches on fantasies.

Are you saying he has not accomplished anything? Name another coach in Australia who could have done what he has done?
The same thing was said about McQueen. It's a conservative thing about not doing anything until someone does it.
It is only fantasy if it comes from nowhere, Coleman has been at this for years and succeeded better than anyone else I have heard of.

Big DC fan but I agree. People are critical of Razors experience but DC being thrown out there. Robertson can only win the comps he's in... which he's done.
Understand Ghost and sensible enough. I think we cannot go from the worst results for 40 years(?) to saying we don't need to do anything.
Rennie has been at it for 3 years and I think we all know what he is capable of, he's not a bad coach but he ain't gonna do what the Wallabies need at this time and that is a total overhaul in conjunction with professional training for all our ooaches.

If Darren Coleman is the best alternative you can come up with then why are we evening bothering to discuss this shit?
I ain't running the show, I am merely stating my opinions the same as you. I would be happy with a sensible but unaffordable option in Robertson but my thoughts are that Coleman is the best local option that could turn this around.
I suppose you are happy to go to RWC with Rennie and getting a predictable result of getting out of the pool but not going any further?

I like DC but so far he’s won an MLR, Japanese second div and the SS. Hardly comps at the higher end of the game and contain amateur facets that don’t directly replicate professionalism. You could argue Brad Thorns NRC was a higher level than both of these. Don’t get me wrong I think he’s a good-in but hasn’t really achieved anything that demands international recognition himself.

Rennie has achieved a lot and coaches sometimes are only as good as their cattle, our cattle is middle of the road and therefore we are a middle of the road team.

I somewhat agree with Adam…

Robertson has almost no coaching experience outside of Canterbury/Crusaders.

That does raise the fear of Deans Mk II.

Jamie Joseph on the other hand has a pretty good resume.
What's more impressive about Jamie Joseph exactly?

I think I would have stuck up for Rennie until the Italy game at that point he lost me. I put that loss on the selections and coaching decisions (substitutions). So, I agree he isn't the guy to lead Australia to any form of glory. I hope I'm horribly wrong....

I just don't think RA will do anything at this point like Wales & seeming England so we are just bashing our heads against the wall. If it did happen to occur, I think they would just hand the clipboard and pool noodles to McKellar to have it be quick and as cheap as possible. I don't think anyone (Robertson, Sexton, Joseph & others) would come near Aus without a 5year contract put in front of them which I don't think RA will do.

I think DC is probably the best coaching prospect not involved in the national set up. With Cron also shown to be able to produce results at levels he's been at like DC.

Agree Ghost and I thought a team of DC and Cron could be a powerful combination. I am not the type to accept failure as unavoidable, I don't expect us to be #1 but we can do better than 6 to 8 and back again, which several here seem OK with.

The goal should be to become number 1 though. Ireland have won 12 straight tests with a 9 and 12 NZ didn't want and a winger Australia didn't want

We talk as if we are some tier 2 nation or something. Realistic or not, the Wallabies need to have grand aspirations

Looking at Rennie's record it is amazing and very odd. He seems to be able to get the guys to a competitive level but the number of games with close losses and draws makes me think he isn't capable of getting teams to a point where winning is probable.
