Wallabies 2023

The Ghost of Raelene

He was once Deans decided his golden boy O'Connor was the future, he says so in his book. Deans did a complete 180 after 2011 SF and decided that O'Connor was the anointed one, Cooper was phased out as Deans had a stubborn personality clash that just wouldn't budge, see how experienced players Mertehns, Giteau, Smith, Mortlock, Tiquiri, etc.. were also cast aside.
Besides Tiquiri who had some other issues at the time with Deans those names imply someone who will cull fellow leaders in the group who hold sway. Not a good sign in a boss.

The need for content is unreal in here. Even the Super Rugby trials will be fresh air

You seem to forget that while Quade was undoubtedly one of the most talented footballers we've ever had he also did some of the dumbest shit you've ever seen from a professional on a semi regular basis.

Most of us feel like we are in a different decade...

Don't all Australian Rugby supporters live decades in the past? I gathered that was simply the default position at this point.

Something something nostalgia filled 90's romanticist boomers pining for the glory years again without addressing the fundamental problems associated with the lower-levels of the game.

I'll see myself out..

Meanwhile, the PR machine is going into overdrive with everyone who has played under Jones being sought for comment..

Jeremy Paul tells the story of when George Smith was sprung in the lift in the early hours of the morning coming back from a big night out as Jones woke and went to use the gym.

“So, mate, you’ve got two options,” Jones is said to have said to Smith, “you’re going to get off the piss and lose some weight, or you’re going to stay on the piss and I’m going to flog you.’ As every player said right, ‘I’m going to get off the piss.’ But Jones said, ‘No, mate, I want you to drink. I want you to socialise. I’m just going to flog you.’

“Georgie Smith after every training had to do extra fitness. But this was the guy. He knew socialising was a big part of sport and saw the benefits of camaraderie and bonding.”

The Wallabies have...
Yeah and Izzy Folau signed a personal contract with Asics many years ago as part of his contract with RA. Usually superstars do it. Could be the reason or maybe the Wallabies polo shirts are out of stock

AJ has always had it in for Eddie, right back to when he coached the Wallabies the first time. I'm completely uninterested in his views on most things, but especially who should be national coach in the here and now (though acknowledging his own excellent record as coach way back when).

Whether you like them or not it's just two very strong-willed people who won't give in to the other. While Eddie is our 'sociopath & psychopath' currently my opinion is AJ can STFU
