Wallabies 2023

1. Ala'alatoa
2. Uelese
3. Bell
4. Skelton
5. Arnold
6. Gleeson
7. Hooper
8. Valetini

Right there you've got about 42,000 kilograms of boomfa bum breaking bish, bash, bosh.

In the second half you bring on Tupou, Slipper, Porceki, Holloway and Frost and flip the campaign for some zip, zap, zing.

Beat em up and then run around them.

The result? The Wallabies to win the RWC, pending the sudden last minute withdrawals of France and Ireland and New Zealand and England and South Africa due to lead poisoning.

Nick Frost to run 80 metres and then offload to Ikitau, who will score the winning try with a competition tackle completion rate of 104%. Despite this, everyonewill continue to not even know his first name and he'll win player of the tournament with only 4 comments in total on this website recognising his greatness.

I saw it in a dream.
This team has one lineout option.

No set piece ball for Aus.

The problem with that team is not who’s going to catch it…

But who’s going to throw it?
Indeed.
I was a sceptic regarding Skelton (still a little concerned regarding how quickly he'll get around the paddock) but what I've seen lately regarding the lineout looks pretty good - a good front option, and a massive basis around which to build a maul; but I bet Eddie won't play a Gleeson-type at 6, so that should be covered.
So the biff-boys dream pack is not really likely.

I'm pretty confused about all this chat about Gleeson at 7. An option at 8 or even 6? For sure.

I definitely haven't seen anything from him which suggests he could go the distance at intl level as a 7. Happy to be proven wrong but he hasn't shown it yet.

We need a workhorse there to balance the pack out. Hooper, Mcreight, the kiwi or Wilkin would need to start. Perhaps Gleeson could fill 20 mins off the bench but at 7 but definitely can not see him as a starting openside.

I am biased towards a more traditional 7 so perhaps that's why.

Gleeson is a shock troop at the moment who can cover 6 or 8

Gleeson to me sounds like the supersub option. Covers 6/8 easily and 7 in an emergency. Let Holloway/Valetini start with preferably McReight at 7. Expecting Fraser to go all game.

Frost, Skelton in the row. Whatever semi fit props we have up front and the least shit hooker from Eddie's selection of 3.

I can almost gurantee that won't be the make-up. There's no 6 backups to Holloway in there who can run and execute a lineout exceptionally (to offset Skelton) - imo Hanigan almost a cert for the squad as Holloway's backup. There's 6 backrow spots likely, so you need to pick your starters and then pick the most like-for-like replacements for each. Holloway -> Hanigan, Gleeson -> McReight*, Valetini -> Wilson I'd say.

*Wilkin the bolter for McReight as the bigger body possibily, depends which type Eddie prefers I guess. Hooper will not make the squad.

edit: Forgot about LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) as mentioned below, another option at #6 for sure. Don't see where Samu fits at all and he hasn't played great this year.

I've wondered if Eddie might play Frost at 6 for balance in the lineout and big bodies. He certainly has the pace and really needs to be one of the first on the team sheet.

But why? Do we have another lock who demands selection besides Skelton? Holloway is just as good at the lineout and maul if not better and whilst not as quick, more skilful playing a link role outwide.
