But, oh well, what would I know right?
Hate?

In 1987 this is what happened when Scots beat Joeys.

That seems like respect. It was repeated in 1993 as well.

BTW...

As I am researching the AAGPS rep games I have noted that in the 1930's AAGPS teams played against these teams.

1st XV v Royal Military College, Melbourne for the Forsythe Sheild
2nd XV v Hawksbury Agricultural College
3rd XV v Waverley College

Found this in 1931

The CAS was not finalised till 1934 when Waverely were the last to join.

And Joker may I ask if you know about the record for a school to have the most players in the GPS First XV?
Unsure. Would take a mammoth task to do this as many schools never recorded such numbers.
It took me two years just to do the three premierships.

I can take a guess of course. I have noted already in my Joeys GPS history there has been at least 8 teams so far from 2017 to 1983 when all 15 were selected.

Great effort from the GPS 16s today, in the Pres B team, Standouts were 12, 15, 23, and 18. Currently at the game and it is lovely to watch with great atmosphere.

1927. Jim Carlton scored 21 tries in 7 competition games.....whoa
Best winger in Joeys history. Why?.....speed!

In his three senior years at the St Joseph's College from 1925 to 1927 he set GPS records in the 440yds (three successive records and three victories); the 220yds (two successive records and three victories) and the 100yds (one record and three victories).

Carlton first came to the sporting public's notice as a schoolboy in 1927 running the 100 yds in 10.0 s and the 220 yds in 21.8 s both those records stood for twenty-nine years.

The wind was blowing a gale at St Gregs, Presidents A had it at their backs for the 1st half in the final against ISA 1s and dominated to lead 35-0 at HT. a much more even contest after the break with ISA getting the assistance, finishing at 49-19 to GPS. The Bs played the cinderella story of AICES and it seemed that backing up after a big day yesterday was a little too much going down to the Bs 40-3. Congrats to AICES with what I think was their best ever result.

I think, if memory serves, the 1990 GPS 1st had 12 Joeys boys. Pinkerton from Scots, Bowen from New and Eisenhower from View were the rings in.

not quite - 10 in the 1sts, 4 in the 2nds and one (from Joeys 2nds0 in the 3rds. The one to miss out was a reserve.
There were 7 Aus Schoolboys and 12 NSW Schoolboys in that side.

1st place - Cattle dogs v the wild wolves when played AT THE SWAMP.
2nd place- Cattle dogs v the storm troopers, in particular when played at the Death Star
3rd place- Holstein cattle v the wookies when played at the brick pit. Atmosphere is hard on the bottom paddock.
4th place- Shore v anybody as they can be very passionate traveling fans.

Honorable mention. Barker v Joeys. The Barker fans are crazy and add in the girls who scream louder than the boys they can really add to the atmosphere. In 2022 they were incredible.
Scots vs Joeys never disappoints. Whenever Scots are vsing joeys there's an extra emphasis on getting as many blokes to the game as possible to match the huge joeys crowd

Scots have not beaten Joeys in a 1st XV game in a trial or competition game since 2017.
Still the games have been screamers, 2018 Joeys win on the buzzer with the miracle tryto secure the prem, 2019 Scot's win in the trial and Joeys dominate the "final" with 4 Scots players out and hamish moore red carded. 2020 Close game won by joeys, Can't remember 2021 but they didn't play a comp anyway, 2022 went right down to the buzzer in the trial at joeys which was a great game and in the comp game at TSC scots couldn't get the win and lost in the last minutes with a few dumb decisions made. Of course this year we saw a draw and then a Scot's loss in the 2nd game which was extremely close until the last 10 minutes. Almost Every Scots vs Joeys game in the past 5 years has gone down to the final moments yet Joeys have seemed to outperform in the clutch moments in nearly all the fixtures.

Does anyone know who the youngest ever firsts player was?? I’m pretty sure I remember the Prince of Samoa or Tonga or whatever it was from Newington and he played in year 8 I think back in 1950-60s? Any other cases of this?? Or is this case incorrect?
