I don't mind the idea behind the ABs jersey with the ferns on the front......but a) make them more subtle and b) get an NZ artist to do it

It's a tribute to the uniform of the Regiment of Mounted Grenadiers. Two Argentine Army regiments of two different time periods: a historic regiment that operated from 1812 to 1826, and a modern cavalry unit that was organized in 1903 to the present day.
The resemblance is obvious …but why though?

Does there need to be one? As far as I know Argentina doesn't have any real indigenous ties - I think in South America that is more Amazon/Brazil/Venezuela etc ie to the north. Regardless, if we decided to use our away jersey to honour say our WW1 diggers, would that be queried? Sure there would be some sectors that would suggest another avenue but I doubt anyone would dare say it was inappropriate.

I agree. Too often the alternate is just a lazy white or quick colour swap of your scheme.
I like ours having the Indigenous design. You watch the Argies passion in general and I reckon they’ll love putting that on.

I absolutely i believe if an Australian team suddenly started wearing a specific army unit uniform inspired jersey outside of ANZAC Day people would ask why also.

There are two rugby clubs with Army background: Liceo Naval and Centro Naval
Centro Naval, is an Argentine sports and social club, established in 1882 by a group of Argentine Navy officers. The rugby union team currently plays in Primera C, the fourth division of the URBA league system.
Centro de Graduados del Liceo Naval Militar, or simply Liceo Naval, is an Argentine sports club formed by graduates from Liceo Naval "Almirante Brown" (Almirante Brown Naval High School), one of the two educative institutions of the Argentine Navy. The field is located in Núñez, Buenos Aires, close to the Ciudad Universitaria.
But TBH there's no a direct link between UAR (Argentinian Rugby Union) and the Mounted Grenadiers Regiment. It's just like the Indigenous stuff with RA. The last Indigenous player was Kurtley Beale, oh, Dylan Pietsch now but Kurtley was the last starter and star in the team. It's not a full Indigenous team as an outsider could think about a team with Indigenous design is full of Indigenous players
