If we were going to be paying Jones $1m/year, from a purely financial standpoint, we could try and get anyone. Not that it's going to solve much. But, probably someone with experience in a centralised system would be preferred.

I hope that Jones doesn't go because he hasn't even been in the job for 12 months yet and that isn't enough time to be able to make positive change - unfortunately all the change so far have been negative!! I do think he can make a positive difference if he stays but if he does want to go we should say "don't let the door whack you on the arse on the way out!!" and we put a black mark through his name and never mention him again.... EVER!!

Is this just sunk cost fallacy?

Is it really so wrong to not want your game owned by middle eastern oil/gas barons who indulge in human slavery?
It doesn't need to be owned by anyone. Australian rugby needs to find some cash somehow, and we can't rely on Eddie Jones like a lot of idiots think.

Rugby Australia need to get McKellar and Friend back involved in Aussie rugby ASAP.

I'd have Friend in a DOR or High-Performance capacity with McKellar as Wallabies Assistant and a clear pathway to HC after X amount of years.
McKellar was already an assistant in this position and was passed over for Jones, he then got offered a head coach role overseas that is much better than sitting as an assistant to Jones.

If he does well there, he can apply for the position in 5 years. Although there was some Num nuts saying that Jones is to be sacked and Morgan Turinui was to lead the charge in a worldwide search for a coach.

... I suspect Jones ain't going nowhere at least for 12 months..
