Jai 'Reece Lightning' Callaghan is the speedy new recruit who will slot right into that position. I'm sure the Hawker Stand has their fingers crossed he doesn't follow in the footsteps of Lewis 'The Fly, El Chardonnay, Kingy' Kingdom.

I'm pretty sure last year from watching the open games Lewis played 2nd XV and 1st XV (due to player's getting injured in the game) 5 out of 8 games. This adds to your point about him underperforming but I presume its due to his fatigue kicking in because I couldn't imagine playing 2 full games.

Couldn't agree more playing a full game in the 2s then backing up a few minutes later against an undefeated Kings side marking Tonga is brave and personally I don't think it gets spoken enough about. #withitoronit

@Warringah Maul I have to agree here, this is just a snippet of the NSW squad due to the many injuries. If you also looked at the AUSU20 squad, NSW had many players especially if you count players that have moved from Waratahs to Force like Boston Fakafanua

Been a minute. This is my predicted ladder for this year.
1. New
2. Scots
3.Joeys
4.View
5.Shore
6.Kings

Can't see kings really doing any well after last year builder for next two years same with view and shore. View has a really strong year 11 group but don't think there year 12s will hold them up with main players Grova and Hartman. Shore will be good with the new inclusion of Rex and Jai but can't see them competing with teams like Joey's New and Scots. I think that New, Scots and Joeys are all in contention for the premiership with joey's again with a strong year 11 age group. Scots with all there new player may take a bit to all gel in, but think New the real underdogs this year with the best backline in the gps, just if the forward pack hold up with the backs.

Lots up for grabs here. It looks like Davies has the loose head position locked up, and Cleverley and Mooney have their respective positions wrapped up. Bell is all but guaranteed a spot. However, apart from them, a lot is still up for grabs in the second row and open side flanker roles. We need to take note of Ewan Gleeson (16As), who also has a shot at hooker after unluckily missing out on any GPS Presidents' sides this year. Additionally, we need to consider Dylan Simmons, the blindside flanker for the 16As last year. He's a walking highlight but was left out because Cleverley is above him. However, don't think they won't try to sneak him into this side somehow.

I think that Simmons is a lock for 1st XV. His value to the 16A's last year in the games I watched was indescribable. I believe Clev is the better play but it is disrespectful to the young man to not have him in this backrow somewhere. Karl out.

Marshal Lematire has tried on the new jerseys and they are looking tight on him so he might scare away a few teams that's why I would be shore only a couple of places higher. Same with James Warner his back muscles and short stocky legs have blown up with the training.

Riverview on the other hand props have gotten stuck in with the gym. Connor Dempsey and Jack Henry are looking really strong, they just need to work on fitness and I could potentially see them in a high GPS Team.

Kings have Angus Masters who has not only been working on his multiplication but also his running lines and can potentially seen him in the 1st for Kings with his size and skill.

Is Jack Henry in the running's to make the 1st XV this year for View? I heard he was unable to perform to his full ability due to an undisclosed injury he was carrying last season forcing him to the side lines. If someone can fact check me on that, Cheers.

My Predictions for 2024 are as follows:

1. Shore + Scots
2. Shore + Scots
3. Joeys
4. New
5. Kings
6. View

In my opinion, Shore and Scots are the clear front runners for me based on returning players and recruits. This list is my own opinion but with all honesty I think we've got ourselves a blockbuster season ahead of us everyone is looking good at this point, and we could see the premiership coming down to the closing minutes with the winner being whoever wants it more.

Very well said Warringah Maul. Scots and shore are the top runners only on the paper - though Scots were the best team other then Kings on paper last year and we all know how well that ended out for them.

I just think with Scots consistency to choke the season with one of the best lineups year after year will eventually get to them.

On the other hand the professionalism from Shore players like Marshall :eek:, Warner and Conick will be able to boost the lesser but equally as valuable players like Lewis Kingdom etc. to the eternal glory of the GPS premiership.

The ‘glazing’ as your son calls it is due to this year being the first in decades where Shore School has a chance at the premiership. With Marshall leading the Shore team out as their captain nothing with stop them.

I genuinely am fascinated with the Shore kids thinking they’ve got a look in. Take out the 7 and a couple of others and it is a very limited team. Unlikely to have forward dominance and little threat in the backs.
Despite claims to the contrary this age group hasn’t won diddly since the 13s.
Great for GPS rugby that they’re competitive again but they’re not a top three team.
Good on them and hope they prove me wrong.
