Very close at the top and bottom of Div 2 CC - if it stays like this, is there any argument to be made about potential pro-reg? Could we see 2 Div 1 teams dropped if Uni & Shammies are still this close? Could get very tasty - could Drummoyne be dropped with no other changes for 2x 7 team Div 1 and Div 2?
Good to see Pats doing their bit and not embarrassing Div2 like they claimed 15 months ago.

Not much respect around here for Petersham this year. UNSW have already been handed the title by some. But the shammies are quietly going about their business, that was an absolute shellacking of Forest yesterday.
I tend to agree - Petersham seem the team to beat. Thought forest would have a bit more of a chance, with Petersham looking a bit down on troops.

Petersham are favourites for me at this stage in first grade.

Div 3 results:
Beecroft convincing winners over Knox 41 - nil. The green machine keep coming up with dominate wins!
Hills 64 over Blacktown 10. Great to see no yellow or red cards handed out this week!
Hornsby 40 LCOI 19, Hornsby's 3rd win places them 3rd on the ladder, jumping over Knox! by 1 bonus point.

Not quite right… great to see competitive games across all Div 1 teams. It took Newport a while but they seem to have sorted their defensive issues… watching the score on Fusesport it could have gone either way against a good Waves side. Colleagues on a roll and what has happened to Lindfield
4/4

Can someone explain the difference in point scores between the division and cowboy cup? Pats is way higher on the cowboy cup and I don't know why

BJT's comments rankle me.
Ok, I will bite. These are my views.

Being relegated from 2023 Div 1 in finishing 6th in CC did upset a little bit.
I can't recall anyone from St Pats claiming that we would embarrass Div2.
We have previously been relegated to Div 2 and at that time relegation was warranted.
From time to time most clubs go through a rebuild phase.

We welcome constructive criticism as it challanges us to improve.
St Pats ranked 9th in Cowboy Cup is an objective measure of how we are travelling.
We have a weather- deferred round for double points to make up.

Our Colts program is probably the most successful in Suburban Rugby.
Our facilities are comparable to most in Suburban Rugby.
Each season St Pats, as it has done over 60 years, has provided rugby for Seniors, Colts, Women and Juniors with the help of more than 50 hardworking volunteers and 150 senior players.

Would like to thank BTS for giving me the opportunity to respond issues he/she has raised.

Hi Michael,

Valuable and sensible input.

Your rebuttal is valid, however, the comment you replied to is referencing the statements that were claimed to be from members of the club that they would smash Division 2, other clubs and their players in the process.

This one perhaps for @Pfitzy. What happens during a game if one team uses 'rolling subs' (because they have more than 8 subs) without any agreement between the teams, and the other club sticks to their 8 substitution cards?

Blue Mountains second grade 8 looks like he will be having a long stint on the sidelines
Late second half
One of the biggest brain explosions I've seen in a long time
That's terrible. Clocking someone from behind without any protection after you've already punched someone. Don't need these people playing community sport should be a year or two on the sideline.

Div 3, Round 8:

Knox @ Beecroft
: Beecroft by 14. I like Knox in 2s and Colts handily though.

LCOI @ Hornsby: Hornsby by 3. LCOI in 2s and Colts by a bunch.

Blacktown @ Hills: Hills by 30. Hills will dust them in 2s also. Unrelated to both clubs but Colleagues II vs Barker should be a good one, Old Barker by 10.

Results:

Beecroft 41 def. Knox 0 - dominant win from the Crofties, 12-0 at the half was a pretty fair reflection of a good physical came, but my goodness they play well on the front foot as defenders get tired. Knox certainly undermanned but the Crofties were ruthless down the stretch for Back to Beecroft day. No changes here - Beecroft still the team to beat in 1s. They got belted in 2s and Colts as expected as they still chase depth to match their top end class.

Hornsby 40 def. LCOI 19 - this was the upset of the round, but don't worry, I picked it ;) I always felt like Hornsby were a little bit of a sleeping giant and they've finally woken up, in a dominant 6 try to 3 outing against the team many had picked to edge them out of a finals spot. Next job will be to see if they can hang with Hills and Knox. Watch this space. LCOI dominant in 2s and colts as expected.

Hills 64 def. Blacktown 10 - Nothing to see here. Hills continued their impressive run in Div 3, only Beecroft and Knox have troubled them all year and they have shown they can run up a score against weaker teams. 4 pies for Ward at fullback, always dangerous there. Hills also convincing winners in 2s as usual. Old Barker got up 44 in Colts, thought that would be tighter.

9/9 however, gotta be happy with that.

Blacktown have to be happy with the absence of cards!! Well done to the club after a couple of weeks where hard decisions have had to be made. On the right track forward!!!
