Queensland Reds v British & Irish Lions - Wednesday, 2 July 8:00pm

The Reds are actually blowing out a bit in the market, and the line is now 31.5.

Bookies aren't in the game of losing money. They must think the Lions are going to really belt the boys around.

EDIT: if you are having a punt and keen on the Reds, now is probably the time. I reckon that line will probably shorten up a bit pre-kickoff once a few of the supporters have 10 schooners of liquid courage and drop a couple of dollars in the hope of an upset.

Yeah I expect the Lions to win but I cannot understand the market the bookies are trying to make. At those odds you're really running a risk of having a huge payout as I can't imagine too many people are placing bets on the Lions as the returns aren't that great.

With the Lions travelling from Perth which is a good 7 hour door to door event along with change in timezone and Finn backing up, it'll be a lot closer than those odds.

I know we're worried about a blow out after 60 minutes but if it's close, Finn will no doubt be pulled around that time which works in our favour.

Lots of supporters I've spoken to today are predicting 50+ points from the Lions based on their midfield attacking power.

But at the same time acknowledging the Reds will be quite handy and probably score a handful of tries themselves.

I am very excited for the game regardless of the result!

That's not really how this tour is playing out - the theory going around (backed up by the selections so far) is that the Wednesday games against the Reds and Brumbies are set to be much closer to the starting side, giving them the two toughest games as prep and a 10 day break into the first test.

Reds odds are 29 now & were 34 when I placed a bet vesterday. (Lions odds are 1.01 & haven't changed)

I'm not much of a gambler so I'm assuming that just means that a bunch of people have put money on the Reds to come away with the upset...
