Reminds me of a 5-6 years back when the Waratahs said they were going to focus their pre-season on 'bigger is better' and brute force to outmuscle the opposition, well, they had an abysmal season highlighted by injuries and players clearly lacking in conditioning.

The idea that a team can simply “muscle up” by increasing player mass reflects a reductive understanding of athletic development. You can’t manufacture size out of thin air, especially when players don't have the raw frames to begin with. Where our backs are now is a reflection of the increased competition rugby has faced from other codes for the most naturally powerful schoolboys athletes.

well if they keep doing what they’re doing, don’t expect results to change.
The Reds did not improve this year.

Anyway moving on to something more constructive.

Front page squad list updated as of today, Lachlan Anderson certainly one we want to keep. And given concerns over Hodman's shoulder injury, Fa'agase is one the Reds probably need to look at keeping also.
In celebration of the Reds winning the 2025 Super Rugby Championship(prematurely), i've created this thread to track re-signings. And I got sick of providing/tracking running updates in the 2025 thread, it'll be easier to just pin this for the 2026 season, given the number of players re-signed.

Surely this isn’t based on last night? Wow.

It’s the 2026 thread… try be constructive

Aiden Ross and Brial's continued improvement look like the big positives and room for improvement on this year for 2026 so far (as well as some better band aids to keep more players on the field)
Yeah Brial improved and showed some quality glimpses, demonstrates more this year than Vest has previously for sure. I was disappointed in Bryant’s progress I had high hopes for him.

I remember Brial’s old man famously taking the game to Frank Bunce in 1996. Reds should be played that footage 30 years on to fire them up for season ‘26.

I don’t think the Reds/Suncorp do a very good job of hyping up the crowd. They need to let something more organic form as opposed to constantly begging for crowd engagement. (Brisbane) Lions matches at the Gabba are way more fun (allowing for the fact that it’s a shit sport). Play more good music in the breaks, spend some money on better highlight vids, and most importantly, play well.
I will not hear a bad word about the trio of timpanists on the upper deck that they roll out for the big games (crowd of 20k)
