DIV 6 tips
Burraneer Vs Syd Harbour - Mighty Oysters by 3
Georges River vs Penrith - Georges river by 12
Manly Savers VS Merrylands - Top of the table clash, going to go with the upset here. Merrylands by 4
Oatley Vs Cronulla - Cronulla lads get it done by 18
I will provided some defence for Knox - way back in March all clubs were told 5 July was a guaranteed bye. Their division was also turned on it head a few weeks in compounded by a void match and washouts.Huge call from Knox. Especially when their colts have the week off. Doesn’t make sense that a club last week ran a 2s with at least 3 fresh subs and a colts side whose 9 from 9 (with 9 bonus points) can’t get 15 together from 30+ guys last week. Tough for Blacktown in this situation.
Seems like forfeit is a dirty word
Gee, looks like Emus might have found their spot (got to be a lot better than consistently losing by cricket scores at any rate).Won 27-12 despite 4 yellow cards
Four YCs seems like there's still some poor discipline issues though.
Yeah this is bang on. Plenty of the wider grade squad pencilled in commitments with this week being flagged as a week off with plenty of notice. Further, the only reason this week was being played at all was because subbies pulled Barker after 1 week in the competition against Knox in week 1, where both grades picked up bonus point wins that were stripped.I will provided some defence for Knox - way back in March all clubs were told 5 July was a guaranteed bye. When players hear there is a bye they act immediately - book holiday, buy tickets or pencil in some time with significant others who get overlooked during the throes of a season.
what I can’t work out is not being able to scrape together a team when you should have a whole colts squad that can step in. Maybe there wasn’t an appetite to take on the Blacktown lads?

Or beers in Paddo before the Waratahs vs Lions. Isn’t that why we all had the week off?I'll bet the week was circled early by any ski enthusiasts across Subbies.

Isnt this the issue that we have been arguing over the last few weeks. Players dont want to commit to 18 rounds anymore and when they are forced to play each week - you end up getting forfeits.I can sympathise with Knox and the late changes to the draw and the fact that the washout fell on the 2nd match up against Blacktown and its tough to get guys on a week off.
However they’ve known about the need to catch this game up for a number of weeks. This chat knew they had agreed to play this weekend at least 3 weeks prior. They must have known there numbers then or why agree to the game. Both clubs have grounds they can accommodate mid week games.
They had ~50 guys the week before and had 8 on the bench on Saturday. But we are supposed to believe that 30 guys took the week off and the club didn’t know till the Friday before.
Realistically given they have double points this week and in the last round. One win in these games will get them into the finals without having to tough it out this week. It’s another example why a 4 team finals in these comps don’t work.
But it’s within the rules so play on and hopefully it doesn’t backfire on them.
