Jokers Day at HUnters Hill
(alert. my typing is limited so it takes a while to type accurately)
On arrival I ran into old Joeys friends straight away. One who was in the class of 84, introduced me to a Scots supporter who he just met. My friends goal was to meet and greet as many Scots supporters and show the level of hospitality Joeys are legendary for. I enjoyed watching the 3rds game and had brief chats to plenty of players. Afterwards I made my way to the southern end of the stand and meet up with numerous Scots boys. Some who knew me from the first game but a number of Scots lads said hello and introduced themselves. Couple were players in the Scots 2nd XV who gave me some time to talk footy. One Scots member,
@anothernudge greeted me with the big smile and firm handshake. A new member (and SBHS fan!) came over and introduced himself. I am so appreciative of those from other AAGPS schools who join in the fun. Thank you
@Choc&blue for your time, I hope to hear more from you going forward. Finally good to see
@Lindommer who had scored VIP seats, something I have never enjoyed,
Unfortunately my my health dropped dramatically and at half time in the 1st XV. I almost collapsed but somehow got to my feet. In a daze I started to walk home. My internal compass was way off and I did wander behind the Scots supporters on the eastern sideline. They called out by I was in a daze. When I finally got my bearing, I called my neighbor who came and pickup me. It was only when I got home did I watch the second half.
Congratulations Joeys and solid win after a bumpy start. The biggest congratulations one goes to the Scots lads on the eastern touchline who never stopped cheering. The energy they gave only lifted their team. A big thank you to the canteen ladies who once again sold me a stellar pie. Finally, these games are the pinnacle of what the AAGPS is all about, passion for your school, respect to the opposition and fellowship among the supporters. Thanks again Scots for coming west of the darling harbour, many, many thanks to those lunatic Scots boys who stood and cheered even when the heaven opened. God bless you all.
