If they are going to be sticking to the same game plan with the 12 running a heap of crash balls and pick and goes, Paisami will be fine. It's been the 15 distributing to the back, so no change from last week?
Hunter Paisami is where the ball goes to die. Outside centre and the wings won't touch the ball all match unless Edmed throws cut-outsI think Hunter will go fine. I'm buying in that these guys are fully in on Schmidts system and they will look better slotting in than previous iterations.
Is he a step down from Len? Yes, but most Centres in the world are right now. Do the simple things well and work with JAS to create some space for Toole and Jorgo.
3 tries were scored last week off Ikitau, non were off sweeping backline moves, two were basically offloads in contact to JAS and one was him distributing off the bottom of ruck. I don't think the 12 is being used how you think it is...Hunter Paisami is where the ball goes to die. Outside centre and the wings won't touch the ball all match unless Edmed throws cut-outs
That hasn’t been true for a long time.Hunter Paisami is where the ball goes to die. Outside centre and the wings won't touch the ball all match unless Edmed throws cut-outs
Complain? yeah I guess, more frustrationNot having a crack at you specifically but your post does demonstrate that the selectors can’t really win.
People want to build depth in the 10 position and elsewhere. And I assume people want the welfare of our players protected.
But when the selectors make a change on the basis of two injuries we complain. Edmed gets a start in front of his home crowd at a ground where you assume he is most comfortable and Paisami, while not being Ikitau, is our next best option.
Can you?
That hasn’t been true for a long time.
He’s no world beater but he can and does set up lots of play for his outside supports.
Yeah - I do understand the first part. Really it’s just an example that you can’t please all of the people all of the time. Again - not trying to have a go at you personally as I’m sure your post reflects the thinking of plenty. It’s just a bit against what has been the general consensus of posts lately.Complain? yeah I guess, more frustration
We are down to our 4th choice 10? (Noah, JOC (James O'Connor) (James O'Connor), Lynagh & Donno) I was wondering who they call up next
& 12 is our weakest position by far
If you'd told me at the beginning that Paisami would have to start one game in the entire comp, this is the one I'd have picked. I think the Argentinian attack is the one least likely to exploit the drop in tackling effectiveness between Ikitau and Paisami.Hunter is this weeks fall guy by the looks.
I'd prefer Schmidt tell paisami not to do one of poorly timed, poorly executed tackles myself.Schmidt just needs to tell Paisami that if he does one of those poorly timed, poorly executed kicks that goes straight to an opposition player, then Tupou is going to no arms tackle his shins...

Probably not for this thread, but those complaining about Hunter, who would you pick at 12 considering we won't have Len for 2 to 3 matches of the EOYT?
i dont think the server farm could handle the heat from the amount of posts (and the contents of said posts).Donaldson for the win!
"Every single one of them has surpassed by far what anyone here could ever hope to achieve in rugby.I want every player that pulls on the gold jersey to do well. I want any number 10 to take their chance by the scruff of the neck and own the jersey for the next 10 years.
So, no. I'm not in the least biased.
And I never deathride a player ad nauseum for any perceived slights.
Every single one of them has surpassed by far what anyone here could ever hope to achieve in rugby.
I respect that, no matter what.
I dunno man, you can’t post as you have about Lynagh the past 12 months and then just flip the switch for Edmed, surely his performance/selection deserves as much scrutiny and criticism as you’d given Lynagh"Every single one of them has surpassed by far what anyone here could ever hope to achieve in rugby.
I respect that, no matter what."... I obviously totally agree with that. My opinion obviously though is I just don't go along with the majority that Tom Lynagh is the future. I don't death ride him. I honestly don't think he's as good as many say. My opinion, that's all.
I agree with the sentiment somewhat, having a more mobile lock close the game out, but I think this is Schmidt rewarding performance. Williams deserves reward for his efforts.is there a case for LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) beginning then Williams off the bench like he has been doing well lately ?
according to google LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) is 123 kg, Williams is 119 kg & T Hooper is only 112 kg ??? just watching them on the field i thought LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) was the heaviest then Hooper then Williams ...
