He showed a turn of pace to score that I thought he no longer had? He has the strength of Pietsch and is a good choice to balance out either Jorgo or Toole. Also a legit option at 13.
He has just enough pace to hold his own but he was running in sand to finish that try. I'd be happy for him to start but also see the explosiveness off the bench as an asset.
Toole got targeted and exploited a bit too much. Jorgo inst any bigger but seems to have more nous in him about the game to position himself or make a defensive read to cover for being out sized.
It is true. American Football players wear huge helmets and other protective gear, they have much higher rates of brain damage. I assume the shock of the collision is transmitted through protective gear.
They also use the helmets as weapons in the hit like two Rams which is a huge problem. Both players get hurt, no technique used when all they try and do is hit you.
I don't disagree with any of that, BUT my take on Edmed is that he doesn't strike me asbeing totally confident in himself, and he is most probably one of those guys who get slowly better with more exposure. The end of next season under Larkham will answer the question of whether he has a position in the Wallabies. I'm hoping he does, as we have holes in our pants at 10.
He's 25 now with 70+ pro games. I do think he will look better in the Brumbies system but I don't think he will suddenly be a vastly improved player. He's got decent enough size, OK athleticism, average boot and a common level skill set. We're not getting out of the hamster wheel of 10 chat anytime soon with the options available. JOC (James O'Connor) is the most gifted and prepared of the lot but also faces the huge issue of age and the fact the Wallabies need to build to 2027...
