On the flipside, Pritchard and Mackay both getting their first Reds cap on the weekend after being the best in the 18s is a positive. Retention rate of the 18s team in rugby is about as high as it has been in recent years.

It’s much better but still hurts to see playmakers of the last few years in rep teams all gone. Walsh, Large, Rodwell etc. we end up banking on the guy that stays to kick on.
Pritchard is the real deal. I’ll wait on 10s as weve bought into so many for a decade.

Mackay may or may not get there. But he’s 6’2 with a big left foot kick. Plenty to base a solid flyhalf game off.
For what it’s worth, Pritchard might also be able to play 10 in the end.

Just staying tempered on 10s personally.
I think Pritchard is an elite 15. I’d want him with space to return the ball and get more isolated with a defender. 10 is a chance though and I’ve been obnoxious with saying Rugby needs to find 10s from within.

Yeah agree. But he’s got as much a shot as Risati really. And while Mackay’s being pumped up in reality he’s stuck behind 3 other blokes so he’s got plenty of time to learn and develop. Played a bit of HC for Souths so I expect him to continue there whilst playing U20s and maybe an occasional bench appearance for the reds. He's more likely than not to kick on.

Went to Scots and decent. Played NSW Schools with JAS, Teddy Wilson, Amatosero etc.
Local enrolment and not a NRL contracted kid being babysat for a few years. Just prefers League and has made a good fist of it.
His older Brother Charlie plays 10 for Glasgow after heading to Scotland straight out of School as part of Scotland's global recruitment campaign of anyone who qualifies. So there are pretty strong Rugby ties.
He showed enough this year that other NRL sides will offer him anything from 400k+ for halves. Always at least 6 sides looking for an upgrade and that's not counting Perth who can sign players from this Saturday. He could take a big offer there and figure he'll lob up anywhere this year or hang around Easts.

Does have a background in Rugby and played a few years in Oakhills 1st XV so he likely doesn't have the same fear of a ban for a couple seasons (it wont be life) if it fell over. G
Get the cash and he would find a job after it. He's only 27 so good luck to him. Storm wouldn't mind with this Fa'alogo waiting for the Fullback job. With NAS moving on from the Storm, not needing to re-sign Pezet and this I reckon they want to get Tino back from the Titans.

With the uncertainty around R360 I'm wondering if he's just decided to take a punt and have a crack at rugby anyway. If R360 doesn't go ahead or is delayed he'd pick up a gig somewhere, if not here then either Japan or Europe on pretty decent coin you would imagine considering his background.

Wonder if RA could sign him to a 2 year deal and then R360 pay out the transfer fee if he wanted to jump ship? I guess R360 isn't really a sanctioned comp so even if they brought in transfer fees (which I hear they're doing more with academy players).
