We want to pick our best players in each position

Yes, and I don’t think he is currently seen as the best player in that position, particularly going forward…

All this talk of “third best” flyhalf, and if everyone was fit that wouldn’t include JOC (James O'Connor), or Edmed, or Donaldson, or Stewart.

The ranking picture this weekend is way too complex to make predicitons. As everyone is probably aware, from our perspective the only hope we have of making the top 6 is to beat France by 16+, in which case we would edge ahead of them, we would finish 6th and they would drop from 5th to 7th.

Regardless of what happens in the Argentina v England game we cannot overtake Argentina, but dependent on the Ireland v South Africa game, Argentina could theoretically finish as high as 3rd, and Ireland as low as 6th.

Hell even Joe Schmidt wouldn’t agree with Joe Schmidt as much as Slim does

I certainly haven’t agreed with all of his decisions this year, but the discourse here has devolved into a hysterical pile on without any rational thinking and fuelled by a few people with an axe to grind that goes back before the Lions series…

Well we'd have no one then? Because Lolesio and Lynagh wouldn't be included either. One tried way too long and the other too small and a concussion magnet. You crack me up Slim. Are you Joe Schmidt?

They only took 2 flyhalves because JOC (James O'Connor) (James O'Connor) was over there, not necause stewart was in the squad. Joe made a whoopsie and I think it’s ok if he is questioned on it.

And that’s fine…

The decision was made to send JOC (James O'Connor) home because he wasn’t required and it was decided it was better for him to return home…

Gordon possibly ruled out the day before the game definitely makes that decision regrettable.

Hindsight eh, guess thats why its common to carry 3 10s in a touring squad for the whole tour.

Glad we could agree

And it’s posts like these why we can’t have reasonable discussions…
Slim. The discussion on our fly halves is obviously much debated. No one has stood up and grabbed the jersey. Noah has had the most opportunities. By a mile. In my opinion definitely not the one. Donaldson has been given a few starting Tests at 10 in comparison and didn't grab it but has been used as a 15 and benched mainly. Lynagh thrown in to start for the once in a lifetime, for most players, Lions series after hardly killing it off the bench or in Super rugby and clearly was a liability in that series. The use of JOC (James O'Connor) by Schmidt has been mind boggling really. In out in out ... THEN ... we throw the Carter Gordon situation in... brought back by Rugby Australia after an injury plagued attempt at league.... THEN taken on a Wallaby tour after no rugby for 18 months and injures himself again straight away. But no wait.... Joe has also taken a 10 that was lucky to play at his franchise ... my God... now Carter is possibly injured again and Rugby Australia have a fit Ben Donaldson being paid to go on holiday to Vietnam. It is a total balls up. That's a reasonable summation.

Yes we can talk about it until the cows come home, in hindsight Donno should have been in the squad and probably would have ended up playing 2 or 3 tests. Disappointing for him but as mentioned his value may have further reduced if he had played, so now with a full super rugby season can push his case. For this game I would rather they just start Stewart over Edmed.

The decision not to take JOC (James O'Connor) to France was pretty mind boggling, even with no benefit of hindsight. If they needed to save money on a bed they should have sent Paisami home, there is plenty of centre coverage there. Or Toole.
