It was what could have been for BBC at Ross oval today as they had their chances to win but let themselves down with some sloppy execution and concentration slips.

The first half got off to a slow start with Bowyer eventually kicking a 3 - 0 lead, before Nudgee scored 3 unanswered tries to take control of the game. The first two were simple PND's from point blanc and the third the result of one of the Nudgee front row smashing through the ten channel. All a bit soft to be honest.

BBC responded with a soft try of their own, Nathan Russel piling through and holding off a defender to score, half time.

Second half resumed and it was again Nudgee who took the impetus, scoring early and adding two penalties to take the lead out. BBC hit a penalty of their own before piling on the pressure - unsuccessfully - for some period of time.

Nudgee 12 was then red carded for a spear tackle, but college again couldn't capitalize for some time, before they finally went over in the corner, NC 32 bbc 28 with 2 minutes to go.

BBC new they had to move it and fast for a try, and the resulting calamity saw Nudgee 14 intercept a sloppy pass and score in the corner, final score NC 39 BBC 28.

BBC will have to improve their defense

Absolutely ridiculous call from the ref producing a red card for a straight forward yellow card situation, yes the player was lifted past horizontal but a red was not warranted!!

Interesting to see BBC 15 A team down Nudgee 15-7 after losing 75-0 last year... If I'm correct that's the first time that the Nudgee team had been beaten by a GPS team.

Red card every day of the week - the BBC tackled player was lifted, tipped through the horizontal, and then driven - heat of the moment stuff, but deserved what it got.

BBC has supposedly got their whole 15A backline on scholarships - all in this year. They were definitely not too strong in the 15s last year and Nudgee dominated the competition. Will be looking out for BBC next week vs BSHS next round. BSHS are another school who have really switched on this year with new players. Last year BGS won 16,15,14A games. This year they won no A games.

I'm sorry but anyone who thinks the Nudgee red card wasn't a straight red is living under a rock. It was a red every day of the week, standing ~15m away and his neck hit the ground first. Very, very dangerous and red more than warranted.

I enjoyed watching the BGS vs BSHS game today untill the last quarter of the game.

State high were not only getting away with murder at the breakdown but were granted field position (penalties) from it. Utterly ridiculous refereeing ruined a very competetive game. Also the state high player who shouldercharged the knee of BGS #7 I think it was is to be ashamed of himself.

It would have been heinous if BSHS won that game.

BSHS were lucky not to be penalised more around the breakdown, which ultimately let them back into the game. I think it was the BSHS #1 who made the shoulder charge on BGS #7.

Anyone have team lists from this game?

BSHS robbed against BGS by the referee going 10 minutes or so over time, extending to a 45 minute second half allowing for BGS to slot a penalty conversion in the final play
