Lighting is very impressive at Drummoyne Oval.

IIRC some Cricket and AFL money was behind the upgrade.

The stands at Drummoyne are in fairly pointless positions for watching rugby. It has a good hill though. The cricket pitch is a bit of a worry. Looks like someone has dumped a couple of tons of topsoil on it! Watching the sun set over the water is quite pleasant so I enjoyed myself. Free entry helps too!

Watched the game again on video. The fulltime bell goes and the ref plays the lineout. Which he should. He says to someone from Wests 'you need the point' referring to the bonus point for 4 tries. He probably didn't expect Alofa Alofa to make a magic run to set up a try!

Awesome video Dave. Think the Marlins must nearly be odds on to win this year. Btw what is the CHOON? Nice!

I noticed when we played Randwick how small they are as a team. That's a worry for them. Did you notice the attempted tackle by the Randwick 9 at the 1.00 mark? FFS!

Was watching the Wests video. With 24 minutes to go Alofa Alofa and Rob Caternach come on. Caternach makes 10 tackles in 24 minutes! Most halfbacks make 10 tackles a season. Why this guy is on the bench is beyond me.

They make me cringe whatever the hell they are. Get rid of them please

Uni are gone and are making up the numbers this year. What a capitulation we have seen this year from a club with super 15 resources... Warringah are done too without Luke Holmes

Cant speak highly enough of what Manly have done with their football club, it has been quite a few years in the making as well. Alot of the players are eithier home grown or have developed their game there. The reality is that players who are wanting to play at a higher level will go to clubs that have good coaches and a good program. Invest in a program and they will come...

Shute Shield has been really good this year and how good is the prospect of someone taking it up to uni.

Let me get this straight - club rugby supporters have been bleating about Uni killing the SS for a decade. Marlins a few years ago rather than navel gaze decide to do something about it by building depth through colts , improved fitness program's to match Uni ( and Eastwood) physically , recruit good coaches and engage in governance and balance sheet repair. Now when it bears fruit they are destroying the SS !!!! What planet are we on?

Even a Rats supporter wouldn't stoop to that accusation :)
