On Tigers Locks has Blake Enever got a full Reds contract because he wasn't listed in the squad released on Friday? Does anyone know?

TrainerGB I caught up with Squizzy taylor the other day and he's extremely excited to get the preseason going for prem colts. I thought he did an excellent job this season with mick Cronan as he told me he was nearly going to give coaching away after GPS gave him and a few others the arse in 2013! I'm glad he's been given ago as head coach good luck to him!

$425 Norths this year.
This includes:
Polo
Training Singlet
Training shirt
Playing shorts
Playing socks
Game day strapping and other insurances blah blah
And gym membership to onsite gym!!

On a side note, why so expensive here in Australia?
Just saw my NZ club have put their fees up... To $120!! And you get all of the above as well.

Someone in Australian sport is making a killing!!!

You'll find the majority of the clubs fees are around the same. I know Brothers are relatively cheap, but I'd say University have the cheapest, hence through their numbers.

Tt, who is you new AC? I haven't been following lately.

However, I did hear Easts have got the Churchie Number 8 from this year amongst a few other guns.

Is this significantly more expensive that previous years TBG? I had always been told that Norths fees were on the lower end but that seems right up there with GPS at $450 ($405 if you pay in full 'early bird') and I've heard the Yoku fees may be the most expensive in Brisbane.

Norths have already started pre-season training. Great seeing them make an effort for 2015.

I think brothers training for premier will start soon.

Yeah, to be honest, the past committee had no idea what they were doing....
I think their mentality was "lower fees will attract more players", unfortunately at the detriment of the club.

It was costing more to put a player on the field than what the player was paying in fees!!

Not a smart business decision.

Standards are reflected through your results. This has been shown over the years at the Nest.

Now things are a lot better than 18mths ago due to the commitment and hard work of a number of people and the club is running really well.... and the right decisions are being made for the better of the club.

Norths Eagles, raising our standards since 2015 :)

I believe the simple answer is insurance. New Zealand's insurance structures, I believe, are dramatically different from Australia.

I believe that would be the biggest discrepancy.

Any 1st grade or good 2nd grade half back or centre interested in playing for a strong USA club team?

The USA season is short Jan-May, good comp with good opportunity. You will have time to return back to play in Brisbane club rugby by round 4.

Good package for the right candidate.

Send private reply if interested.

Thanks

Can you shed any light on the difference of insurance structures RugbyReg?

I do know the injured kiwis always whinge how good their insurance system is back home.

A lot of players fork out a $100-$150 component towards insurance as part of their subs and yet most injured players still have to go through the dreaded public health system to heal up.

In NZ we have ACC.

Accident Compensation Corporation.

Basically it's government cover, and if you get injured in an "accident", most of the surgeries, physios and doctors visits are covered.

If you need time off work eg a knee recon, they cover the cost of the surgery and your income. You get 80% of your full income after the first week off work. Some employers top up your income to 100%.

It's like Medicare and some extras, and income protection all mixed into one.

I miss ACC. Spent a fair bit of time under their wing :)

My recollection is that Brothers colts pay $320 whilst grades play $350. You get a significant discount off that total if you pay early. A significant discount being about $20.

Regarding Premier Colts, Brothers stalwart Peter Haig has been appointed forwards coach for 2015.

ACC sounds like a very good socialist community concept.

NZ leads us in a number of ways. They beat us to women's suffrage, gay marriage, ACC, medicare, GST, resolving the union jack on their flag issue, a treaty with their indigenous folk, education, a Rugby Channel and adventure sports.

They don't have snakes, sharks, poisonous spiders or jellyfish, bushfires, tropical cyclones, drop bears, hoop snakes, bicameral governments, or West Australians.
Don't know why they are so keen to get over here. It can't be for the rugby.

Rebecca Wilson is reporting that the ARU has announced there will be no money for club rugby in 2015.
Any reliable confirmation of that?
