So Rowan Perry is lining up for the Waratahs. I'd hoped he might come back to Canberra when he wasn't awarded any sort of contract in NSW.

Lots of good young, promising players in both sides will be on show on Saturday. Looking forward especially to seeing Holloway and Kellaway for the Tahs, and Jooste and Jackson-Hope for the Brumbies.

According to Larkham on the Brumbies site, Jooste will replace To'omua at 10 at some stage in the game. Matt will take the goal kicks initially, and Jooste will be the kicker when he comes on. Been a long time since Matty has kicked for goal that I can recall. Probably a sign that there won't be much kicking for penalty goals in the match. Based on how he played for Argentina, I expect Cubelli to run the ball a bit more than we've been used to from our No 9s in the past.

Big question is, will the Brumbies' forwards be able to stop Big Willy, and how effective will Will be at scrum and line out time?

Given the strength of both lineups, Brumbies should take this comfortably.

Yeah, but I don't mind the Tahs coaching staff giving a number of new additions and young guys the opportunity to show a bit of what they've got. We'll get to see if the likes of Holloway and Horwitz have the mindset in place to step up. Same for Hanigan though I think he's a solid season off. Plus, I'm quite interested to see R.Robinson transition across from League. He has Rugby experience so I want to see if that makes it easier.

Interested to see what the immersion into a pro environment will result in for Jooste. Could tell in the NRC that with the right set up he'd develop into a good player. Which is why you'd have to assume he chose to relocate.

Why Guildford at 15?? How good is his kicking game?

When sober, he is an energiser bunny, immense workrate, I just hope some of his off the ball workrate rubs off on some of the other units.

Aus rugby really lacks back three units with those skills; those who will chase kicks hard, and work back hard to give a kick receiver support options

Any "up and commer" has to have their first game somewhere, but it is a fairly hot cauldron that they have been tossed into.

Better in a trial environment to see how their development is going and where nothing "really" matters as opposed being forced to conduct that "experiment" during the Super Season when sheep stations are at stake.

Jooste looked OK in NRC but that is, as it is designed to be, a tier below Pro Rugby. I think he has potential to go a long way, if he remains injury free and listens to Bernie.

Not so sure about JJH. I hope he has packed a bit of lean muscle mass on since I last saw him play for Aust Schoolboys in 2014. Back then he didn't have the look of a potential Pro-Rugby Inside Centre about him. Things can change significantly in the first couple of years out of school, body shape wise.

I wish I could watch this match but I doubt if the streaming can be accessed after the game and I will be at the Sevens and back late.

So - lots of comments please guys.

I think that Cubelli will be one of the significant recruitments in Super Rugby (and not just counting Australian teams) given that the alternative scrumhalves are not experienced players.

Maybe, but the chance for a young flyhalf to learn from Larkham would be beyond price.

When Willy came back to the Tahs he was a basket case in the heat - last at everything; but when he hadn't finished his exercise work in the time allotted he completed them, as the others were having a drink - and commending him for it.

Now he looks as fit as a trout - maybe it's the haircut, who knows - regardless, he is more than a cartoon character, and an impressive trainer to the best of his ability.

As for the lneouts - I haven't seen too many good ones at Tahs' practice with or without Willy.

As for the scrums, who knows? We hope that both Paddy R and Angus T can step into Sekope K's boots but they both have skinny calves and I fear the worst.

Trouble is - Kepu was so durable, he started in every game last year; so Paddy got no time as the starting THP.

About Guidford

He has been one of the best trainers for the Tahs - (though the standout is Beale). And he is one of the quickest - I believe that only Reece Robinson is faster and that's because he has a smooth sprinter's style whereas Zac is all over the place.

Whatever - it with be good to see a couple of Tahs' guys showing top-end speed.

It's been a while.

.

According to the Brumbies site, the game will be available for replay any time from immediately after the game. You might then get to see it.
