I decided to put the family trip off for a day and headed down to Coogee Oval for the afternoon. Wicks played some proper football and dusted a Gordon side who were completely outplayed. Final score 50-14.
Up the Wicks!
This could be our year.

In their defence you tell me that the pigs are nothing flash, and the size of the backs are a worry.

You sure you dont agree?

To put this into context so would a lot of blokes who change clubs but yes I agree Gordon will face an uphill battle this season the whole grade club has been infiltrated with 20 yo's coming up from Colts.

Kids still learning the game.

Emu Burger. Bit early in the season to start trash talking Wests and Parra I would think. Unless it was your intent to motivate them.

So a win today (and for the next month) is out of the question?

Should you tell Jeremy Paul not to bother?

Id say 5 tries came from ball spitting out and nobody there to make the tackle, rather than players there to miss the tackle.
Yeah Rech took a penalty from infront of posts after 5 minutes after that it was all for touch or quick taps - both sides attacking at every chance
A few o the later MMMs tries were direct from turn over ball and MTBs all in attack mode with no one back at all
Turner has some amount of speed!
Also tried like the first one were just great moves executed perfectly
I don't think either coaching team will be happy with defence but some great angles and lines were taken by the Marlins and the close up tries from The Two Blues are hard to stop at the best of times
I thought Donlan and Rech tries were the only ones that really came from poor defence

Actually, I plan to get out and watch the Shoalies with my father-in-law when they've got home games - it's a pretty good afternoon.

I hear that Shoalies have the best pies ever. Is it true John if so might make the trip down from Emu Plains just to sample 1

Gotta have faith mate. I was just saying those are the 3 games the Emus should be targeting for wins. No disrespect friend

No they will be in for a fight but can't compete with the uni's,randwicks or easts with their big cheque books who come calling. Look how many players have been raped from the Emu's that are playing 1sts in the SS at other clubs

40-26 to Eastwood. I thought it was pretty good.

There was no flow to the game. Easts while young have a number of players who have hooves for hands. Eastwood aren't the team they have been in the recent past. At least not yet. The Easts 9 really killed any chance of momentum on a number of occasions. It was just ugly. The scoreline disguises it in my opinion.

Awful performance from Pirates today Souths were solid and did nothing wrong but we could not do anything right
Going to be a long season unless some of our players wake up and start performing like they can do
That being said Souths will play semis this year if not in the final
Good solid tight five and Teki looks to have improved and could be a major player this year
9 and 10 might be their weakness however but will need to see them against better opposition
