I'd love to see New Zealand and Aussie teams play together.. or maybe a case of 'be careful what you wish for'

an U20s comp using NRC "areas". might be a way to get more games of a quality above the completely variable and lopsided colts comps

I cannot believe Sam Edwards no.11 reds is not in the aust. U20s squad. IMO I think he he never got any ball prior to finals as to why he was overlooked so now he touched the ball 5 times and scored 3 tries, he shoulda scored 4 but opted to pass to make it look more clinical. (Team player). Having said all that, I congratulate Reds boys and coaching staff for an outstanding season. I'm excited to see 2019 QLD reds side.

Edwards was brilliant.

I suspect he will get in the training squad after that, and anyway, injuries happen.

In spite of results the gen blue coaches kept riding Adrian Thompson's PONIs

realy he had his turn.....

maybe they needed to get of those horses and listening to the new National u20 coaches request for players that could get around the park

I saw adrian Thompsons interview at oranges on the internet "replay"
he looks a bit closer to having a stroke than me!! He was noting the social media reactions to his contest

I also note comments on his record as coach and his new position earlier in this thread. I feel that the Aus squad named was probably based on his selection of players last October no mater what state of fitness they were in. so very few performers this year would have had a look in.

There were players in today's contest that were not coping with the job they had been asked to do....and this was no different throughout the tournament. It is not their fault they were selected but we are in deep shit if these are our best "PONI"s

Can't talk for the other teams but besides the contracted players (Hewat, Ngamanu, Scott-Young, Hockings, Riley, Hoopert) these were the Qld PONI's, Wright, Nucifora, Stewart, Luka and McNamara. I don't think the early talent identification was too far off the mark in terms of performance throughout the competition.

Would be nice if there was some proper national U20 competition like Europe has the U20 Six Nations.

Currently the Springbok U20s are playing club sides in SA to prepare.

Springbok 20s really suffer from geographic isolation but it has never seemed to effect them too much.

Australia, NZ, and the Pacific Islands have put together a strong tournament as of late, maybe SA could do the same.

Hamish Stewart will be a key player in the World Cup, his tactical kicking is certainly comforting for any forward. Field position saves a lot of physical energy, however I do know NZ love the counter attack style so our line speed on defence would need to be solid. Noticed the U20 reds backs ran with purpose. Good ball distribution from Riley gave his outsides many opportunities and they sure did take them. Forwards again were outstanding.

I know its more suitable to 2016 but maybe another group acronym: DONKI
demonstrably outperformed nominated known individuals could be thrust upon the QLD front row
