I notice that both Scots and St Augustines have internal trials this weekend

such a shame they cant bury the hatchet, for past indiscretions

as would be great to see a strong Scots 1st xV team take on Auggies this Saturday

come on boys it ain't too late

Gee, there seems a distinct lack of interest in GPS rugby this year?!

Who are Joeys playing this Saturday? If they are also internal trialing, maybe they could tee up a Joeys v Auggies 1st XV fixture

CAS thread is about to pass GPS thread in views as well as posts.

I see Taane Milne (ex Newington) is now in St George 1st grade

Ahhh rest easy SDW the keyboard jockeys I am sure will resurface next week.

Joeys commences term 2 on Tuesday 2/5 hence no games on Saturday. Opens teams are in camp this week.

has anyone got a report on how Shore's tour to the UK went?

I saw that they played in two 7s tournaments. Did they play any other matches? A long way to travel just for two 7s tournaments

We'll be trying a new format of reporting on GPS matches this year.

They will be limited to 500 words which is not a lot.

If anybody is interested please send me a "Conversation" - by clicking on "Inbox" on the top right - then on "Start a New Conversation" and go for it.

Don't mention it here - it the past many of the people who offered to write in the forum did not respond afterwards - but those who took the trouble to get through to me by "convo" were the ones that followed through.

Although the competition won't start for a few weeks there are trials on before then so we could try out the new system beforehand.

There are trial games on tomorrow so if you are so inclined we could start then. Just contact me as mentioned above and I will give you more details (not here please).

Why not give it a go?

Thank you.

Update on VIEW.
The View senior squad featuring about 80% of the likely 1st/2nds toured USA over the Easter break and played 3 games against top tier US teams. They won all 3 convincingly and word has it they played pretty well as a squad and trained very hard.

View is up against Knox tomorrow in what should be a really good day. I hear it is Knox Gala day so a big event in the school calendar. No doubt the Knox boys will be pumped.

View 1st XV to play Knox tomorrow is as follows - included team they played last year. Majority of players were in 1st/2nds last year - teams that came runners in up in each comp. So I think they will be competitive as the season builds.

Position Name Team in 2016
1 Samuel Johnston 16A?
2 William McLennan 1st XV
3 Clancy Donnan 2nd XV
4 Samuel Rigney 2nd XV
5 Joshua Pulvirenti 16A ?
6 Jack Allsopp 2nd XV
7 Charles Rorke 1st XV
8 Angus Garraway Injured
9 William Grant 1st XV
10 Macintyre Bird 2nd XV
11 Sebastian Cameron 3rd XV
12 Dominic Easy 1st XV
13 Angus Bell 2nd XV
14 Matthew Dutaillis 16A
15 Ignacio Bonsembiante 2nd XV

Thanks PickNGo Good to finally hear something from a View supporter! Any surprise selections or pretty much as expected?

I am sure both GPS and CAS supporters will keenly await the results of tomorrow's matches at Warrawee. So please post updates through the day.

Do we have starting line ups for other GPS teams for this weekend?

Also would be great if G&G forum participants can post results on the day

Barker beat Shore too apparently. It's the death of GPS rugby! Anyone know what happened with Kings v Waverley?

Yes, it looked ugly and we hope the young man is going to be OK.
But what little we did see of Newington was most impressive. I would rate this team superior to that of last year. They were clinical, precise, fit and superbly well drilled. They established a ruthless momentum and never allowed Oakhill into the game at any stage. But then again it was a short game.

I left before th 1sts, but New had won all of the junior and senior games up until I left.
