They were also looking at Narrabrai in the space that the Aus 7s just vacated..

Don’t get me started on the whole Moore Park ‘high performance centre’, it’s bloody stupid. Aus 7s players now need to travel 1km to train on a pitch on the far side of ANZAC Parade because they’re competing with 7 other teams and academies who also train on the fields at Moore Park. It’s absolutely no wonder the Waratahs are looking at moving. Rugby Au bought them scooters so they could travel to and from the training grounds.

ARU contractually obliged the Aus 7s to train at Moore Park, but the 7s teams are investigating the option of a ‘winter training site’ at Ballymore In QLD.

Apparently the training fields are a different lessor to the office and ground.
I can’t get to 7 teams training on the rectangular pitch though.

So, what's happening to the Tahs offices near the Members Car Park?

Isn’t it just leased by the Tahs from the SCG Trust and their lease is up? Doubt the SCG Trust will have a hard time finding someone to fill t, probably become site offices for the stadium revamp in the short term.

It's picturesque, but theres not much out there in terms of gyms or pools except maybe the PCYC. UNSW doesn't have much of that kind of infrastructure at Daceyville, its all up at their campus.

I was at UNSW's David Phillips Sporting Complex just up the road from Pagewood a couple of weeks ago. Very sandy, and clumpy turf. Hope it's not the same where the Tah's are based, certainly wouldn't have been able to get a good drop on a drop kick.

That is where we are talking about.

So who owns Concord Oval??? Are the facilities there not good enough for the Tah's???

It is owned by the council. The Wests Tigers use it as their home base. It is the worst facilities of any NRL team. The field is good but everything else is pretty woeful.

Just looking at the Rebels thread it looks like they are going to be allowed to sign 6 locks. With rumours they will snag both Coleman and Philip. Meanwhile the Tahs have 3 and one is still essentially developmental. There is something seriously wrong with the Tahs recruitment abilities since Chieka left. I can't help but think that part of the problem is that Gibson went public in support of one team being dropped. Why he had to say anything I don't know, but it can't have helped.

He hasn't quite gone public with his view about contracts in oz: he thinks they are given out too freely according to my sources. Apparently, he thinks the Shute Shield is where everyone belongs and they should come from there after they've been schooled there. Its a bit of a long term view which I happen to support but Im not sure Gibson's got a long term to make it work.

I saw him state on rugby HQ, or whatever its called, earlier this year that Australia definitely needed to drop a team. Which of course they do but he didnt need to say it. Now that they have dropped a team no players seem to be coming to the Tahs, even though we don't have a full squad yet and the Rebels do. even the ones that come from NSW don't want to. Only McCalman is linked to them which is great but we have Dempsey, Holloway, Wilkins and Wells for number 8.

I think Cowan said that signing for an eastern seaboard team feels like signing for the people who wanted your club destroyed. So Gibson should have distanced himself from the whole thing.

Best grandstands in the Shute Shield. AND they're side on to the ground and up against the touch lines.

That fits with the comments re North's players Will Miller and Nick Palmer training for contracts

Pretty hard to get a line on his recruiting philosophy through that, isn't it? I was told is that the Tahs are moving from Moore Park because they are broke and they sought some accomodation on $ for ground rental and office space but it was refused. Maybe that is the reason for limited recruiting of the Force players.

I'm not sure about his philosophy just questioning the Tahs ordinary recruitment since Chieka left. Saw a tweet from McDuling today saying that something is seriously wrong if Latu Latunipulu is not contracted in Australia for 2018. He's from the Shute Shield, why don't we want him? He must come cheap. We only have utility outside backs and Big T for wingers. Latunipulu showed far more than Kelleway, at least as an attacking threat, didnt make note of his defence.

I'm still hoping we land the other Arnold, Rona and hopefully Latunipulu.

A team that might look like:

Robertson
Latu
Kepu
Simmons
Arnold
Hanigan
Hooper
Dempsey
Gordon
Foley
Latunipulu
Beale
Rona
Clarke
Folau

Roach
Ryan
Needs
Staniforth
Holloway
Phipps
Simone
Naiyaravoro
