Nope it wasnt the best game and you get that with GFs some are great, some not so much, same with any game really.
Big thing was the atmosphere wasn't as good due to covid and seating.
What would be great for rugby league is a GF without the storm / chooks or to a lesser extent manly in it.
tbh gutherson with the whole parra squad is overrated.
Hes the kind of player who looks pretty good at club level, but does not have the size, speed, skill to go next level.

Tbh I’m not sure 500k per year is the best use of your salary cap on an unproven commodity but who knows maybe he turns out great for whomever.
Competitiveness - Maybe on the beaches? but NSRL is not at all, no teams by grade generally short of numbers (usually only one team per age group and not many teams once kids are all off to private schools at 13 etc) so we would take anyone and give them a good run around.

Not at all, being more involved in league culture I understand where league comes from. I was involved in public school union then a tiny bit of private school union as a teenager is my experience with union culture.
Obviously, both sides prefer there game and find the other game less...
The afl hate is understandable - deep down they know league is a tougher game and probably wouldn’t hack it... union and league don’t have the problem as they are about equal in roughness.
also in afls mind league is stopping there march to take over Australia sporting and tv market.
