Justice aint a flanker. How many crash ball runners you need in one squad?? Fowards these days should be banned from entering the backline, anywhere from the 50 up to the 10 when attacking. The amount of forwrds that have spilt the ball this season when the backs should be kicking for field position or running a move is the most frustrating thing in rugby... Let the backs do their thing, I say.
And talking of backs, where's the torpedo punt gone???
The game is changing as we speak. Now days teams focus on getting to an edge and setting a structure there. The reason forwards are there is to make the extra 5 meters instead of a back getting crunched. Every team is different however, but this year in the GPS its common to see a flanker or even a hooker partnering up on the edge with a winger. The torpedo kick is good in theroy but with the game getting quicker the punch kick is utilised more. Although it is a good watch to see those outside backs over the high ball!

Hannon (J) vs Makasini (N) could be the highest quality 2nd XV matchup we have ever seen. Whilst Hannon is organising with the No.10 jersey and Makasini will likely play on the wing, the difference in position won't matter as I'm sure Makasini will still be heavily involved. Those in attendance at Heaven's Pasture will be very lucky to see such a high quality match up in the 2nd XV.

Terrific improvement on Shores mauling ability as well, especially with a smaller forward pack in most competitive teams, especially opens.
Agree! pre-season chat focused on the size (lack of) from the Shore forward pack. Hard to compare to years gone by and the likes of Baxter & Harveson, but across last two games they have proved themselves to be strong and most importantly very tough.

This kid has got some serious talent, playing #15 for St Jospeh's 1XV in year 10 is hard enough as it is, but playing well and dominating against other opponents at the first XV level is not to be underestimated. This kid is going somewhere.

Minto was originally from Waverley, and only joined Joeys last year. Little bitta music scholarships here and there, but it's alright, it's Joeys no one bats an eye.

As far as I know, every school in the CAS/GPS has a full team of scholarships, except for Aloysius. You can assume almost every school gives out sneaky 'music' or 'academic' scholarships to their first XV players.

Signing off,

Agreed, some schools offer places to boys who are exceptional at a certain sport (majority of the time it is rugby however)

What schools across GPS offer music scholarships as a way of bypassing the maximum sport scholarship?
Lets stop that there, and follow @TheRock to the scholarships thread...
Gents, there's a thread for this discussion

I think they have a nice structure. The framework is good, but the execution has lacked in the final 10. If they can close it out, they could see a result...
Will be interesting with Wentd filling in the full back role, hopefully they can hold on to the final moments where they slipped last week. Shore will be hard to stop if they can fill those gaps.
