    Reds v Waratahs - Sat 15th Mar - Suncorp

I thought he was better than Gleeson, and I would have left him on longer. If he can keep this level up, he will be a big step up from Gleeson.

    Reds v Waratahs - Sat 15th Mar - Suncorp

I disagree with Adam to some extent. The problem with the Tahs and most Super Rugby Au teams is that they don't travel well, and I'm not sure why that is. Away games are ~50% of the season. As pro players, they need to be able to win away a reasonable percentage of the time, or the season is cooked...

    Aussie Player Exodus

Len has been a great servant of Ausssie rugby and I wish him well. Considering his omission in RWC I expected him to go early after that. The deal with RA seems on the face of it fair and RWC without some old heads ain't easy.

    Waratahs v Highlanders, Rd 1, Fri 14 6.35pm 2025

I agree with you but suspect that without this shift we wouldn't see any turnovers.

I thought Grant looked sharp when he came on and was one of the reasons we got back into the game. Gordon must be under instructions to slow the ball down at the breakdown as he doesn't do it as much in Wallabies.

That sounds good and maybe one of the reasons the Brumbies are always strong, wonder how the others are going?

Had a look at 'reds emerging' and it looks pretty comprehensive, has it always been like this?

Makes me wonder if the league management is watching the academies as well as the private schools, 4 out of 7 is a pretty poor moving to league. if that is mirrored around Australia we are paying for a training ground for league players.

And did in Australia only back in O'Neil's time according to his book 'It's Only a Game'. Politics and Rugby are an ongoing issue.

Until we have all Super Rugby sides aligned with the Wallabies, the rest is Hypothetical. It is hard to put a plan in place when only 2 of 4 are aligned. The academy's performance is rarely discussed anywhere, I assume they have not been great.

Ditto from the other side of the fence.

    Wallabies 2025

I disliked Randwick when I was playing, not a lot of fun in their clubhouse compared to the others, but you had to admire their coaches. I think A. Jones coached Manly first, Macqueen Tahs and Brumbies. Randwick was great fun on the rare occasion we beat them.

I suspect 90% of posters here agree with your post. Including all Aussie coaches. Bit of an over reach?

I suspect the only belligerent arse was Cheika. Never heard any complaints about him from a player's point of view. But I had no insights during his time.

    Wallabies 2025

Not from my recollection. After Eddie took over from Macqueen it became obvious that the players had a far greater say in what was happening and Eddie, having taken over the Brumbies from Macqueen recognised and used it. I always felt that Eddie continued to play Macqueen's players past their...

    Wallabies 2025

What is the point you are making? Are you suggesting that as it was 5 years after Macqueen became Wallaby's coach, therefore, it is irrelevant?

    Wallabies 2025

Having played in 4 countries, I believe that Australia, across all areas of rugby, is the most political. Even in Subbies rugby I was shocked to see how political it is.

    Wallabies 2025

Agree but that wasn't all of it. I saw it more in the sacking of David Nucifora after winning the Super Rugby final. Talk at the time was some of the senior playing group didn't like him! Another great loss to Australian rugby?

Agree with this part of your post

    Wallabies 2025

This is something for history buffs but it was no coincidence that it started at the Brumbies and bled into other franchises and then the Wallabies. Collective bargaining gave us a situation where we rarely beat the ABs BUT our top players were paid more than the world's best in the ABs. A state...
