    CAS Rugby 2023

Hi Snort, just got home from Riverview. The better side won no doubt. Waves had lots of new boys in today, 6 out of the 1sts, but at this stage can't see them challenging Knox or Barker. Very disappointing. Can't see View Challenging Kings, New etc, but again, there is a long way to go. Happy...

Couldn't agree more Harry, combinations over years wins comps! How did they go v Barker last Sat, and what do you mean by the "Waverley triangle players ?" never heard of that comment before.

Stop being a complete fool, this is NOT funny, I suspect you don't play Rugby, better still you do nothing but make up the numbers at school whilst trying to be really funny. Funny thing is, you are NOT even that, go away.

Can confirm that the Waves do have 7 players out this weekend but 2 of them will be out all season, Tino Tavana doesn't qualify because he turns 19 this year, and Zion has a shoulder issue that may well mean he is out all season. The other 5 are experienced players BUT their replacements are...

Sorry, you guys should stop this smoke screen of Holier than though ( and I am not religious). In most cases Rugby Scholarships are offered for 1 purpose, and 1 purpose only, to win the comp. If we need to be honest these boys who come in very late, typically aren't ATAR boys, they may do the...

They can play if under 19 in that year I believe, the rest I absolutely agree with and the issues it creates are proven.

Ha Aa, pretty sure the View boys have nothing to do with this, it goes much higher up. Your Joeys analogy v Waves As and Bs, is spot on, likewise Joeys v Barker, so it boils down to who you are playing. In this case, View v Waves, it should be like for like.

Yes ap1, I too have commented on exactly this type of format but it won't happen unfortunately. There is no point in having a CAS specific divisional comp, there would be only 3 schools in div 1. It needs to involve multiple associations to have the sufficient number of schools to make a...

In all due respect AA, View isn't Joeys and I still don't see the logic. Why would a school stuff up all the lower grades when at best I think if teams were matched evenly View might win 50% of all games. I actually think that would also be a struggle against the Waves age groups. I think I...

Snort, Yes I have heard all that before and I did say that it would be fine where a school has more teams in an age group, then the fs can play some other school. However if any school has 5/6 teams in an age group I believe it is essential that these teams get matched up. Furthermore, without...

    CAS Rugby 2023

Having just seen the View v Waves Rugby fixtures for this Sat, they are quite upsetting. Other than each individual A age group View will be pitching lower teams against all the Waves Opens and age groups, eg the Waves 2s v View 3rds, Waves 3rds v View 5ths, and in the age groups it's Waves bs...

You are indeed a lawyer! If you approach the bench the distinction to be made here is that this is just footy talk, and in most cases here, dominant means territorial and ball retention dominance. Yes probably no/minimal points were scored but put simply, 1 side looked better than the other for...

Agree RoD, Whilst I will be careful not to down play any school, in this case Waves v View both have solid depth typically, so why all the Waves Opens teams will have to play a lower View team appears a complete mismatch, and a waste of time. Time will tell but if this is what happens and if...
