Starting a new rugby club an insane idea? Gippsland, Vic.

Benm, go for it! St Pauls and Gippsland Grammar would be your first two targets. I'd travel to Pakenham.

Waratahs vs Rebels Rnd 9 Super Rugby 2012

One of the betting companies is giving odds of $1.12 for the Tahs, $5.50 for the Rebels. Now I reckon the Rebels will probably lose, but that's ridiculous.

Kingi's on the bench, just to destroy Phipps confidence.

    Rebels 2012

Gerrard's not a real winger (too slow), more of a second/defensive kicking full-back. So KB (Kurtley Beale) can attack.

Backs are looking very good. I do prefer JOC (James O'Connor) at inside centre, receiving the ball from Cips. Can't see Snorky breaking into his own team when they're all fit. Would you really replace Inman?

Rebels v Highlanders Rnd 6 Super Rugby 2012

seriously, a very good friend of mine said that one of the main reasons he moved from New Zealand (ChCh and Auckland) to Melbourne was because the chicks were cuter here.

    Cipriani going to Sale

SirClive, I wouldn't be too worried, for some reason Cipriani arouses excessive passion amongst some rugby fans. I agree his defence has been at time atrocious, but equally his playmaking and ball distribution have been exciting to watch, and his kicking better than average. He's not been great...

    Rebels v Waratahs Round 2 - 2012R02 - Dunlop Shield III

Matt Bourke offers some free advice to the Waratahs. Not particularly insightful - "the rebels are crap at defence, target Cipriani". Well we shall see.

    Rebels 2012

Something very strange happened in Melbourne today. The back page of the sports section, in early March, did not have a footy story. Instead it had a half page pic of JO'C and a soccer story, backed up with a full page interview with Rabbit. Trying to keep the big media buyer happy? Anyway, great.

Funny, most everybody I know can manage to get around corners and not crash into cars. Dunno WTF was going on, but it's got to be stupid.

    Rebels v Waratahs Round 2 - 2012R02 - Dunlop Shield III

Realistically I think everyone knows that the Rebels are at best going to come third in the Aus conference, after the Reds and Waratahs. You'd have to be a rabidly one-eyed fan to think that we're better than the Tahs. However, upsets do happen, and we're hoping for consistency and good defence...
