    G&GR Fantasy Rugby Competition 2012

I've never played fantasy rugby before, but I like the scoring. Your forwards will usually determine whether you're going to have a good or bad week and then your backs embellish the scoreline. Seems fairly realistic to me.

    Rebels 2012

Would be a real loss if Kingi left. Not only do I rate him as currently the best 9 at the club, but his utility value is near irreplaceable in SuperRugby.

    2012 IRB Junior World Championship

Allan Faalavaau would be one of the front runners.
  4. SuperGrover

    Rebels 2012

Gorgodze would be anything but a low-price signing. The top 14 can pay very well and he only recently signed another contract with Montpellier despite having agreed a pre-contract deal with Toulon. If Toulon were in the game and he turned them down you'd think money wasn't the motivating...

    2012 IRB Junior World Championship

The players selected for this first camp are as follows: Allan Ala'alatoa (NSW) Mark Baldwin (NSW) Luke Beauchamp (QLD) Curtis Browning (QLD) Mitchell Carpenter (QLD) Cameron Clark (NSW) Sean Cox (QLD) Steven Cummins (NSW) Thomas Cusack (ACT) Timothy Donlan (NSW) Tim Duchesne (NSW) Stuart...

    Pacific Rugby Cup

On the other hand, the Crusader Knights team that lined up against Tonga A (winning 58 - 6) have a number of players that even I recognise: Crusader Knights: 1. Joe Moody CRFU 2. Ben Funnell (Capt) CRFU 3. Nick Barrett Southland 4. Ross Kennedy Hawkes Bay 5. Dominic Bird CRFU 6...

    Pacific Rugby Cup

It certainly looks that way. Although I don't know enough about the Kiwi players in the tier below Super Rugby. For example, perhaps someone comment on the strength/potential of the Hurricanes development side that recently defeated the Samoan 'A' team: Hurricanes Development XV 1...

    Brumbies v Highlanders Super Rugby R5 2012

Upset that I missed the game. From the comments posted thus far Hooper clearly had a great game, but can anyone tell me how Tomane went. Heard he got a couple of tries, but was that a result of greater involvement throughout the match?

    Waratahs vs Sharks - RD5 2012

I didn't make it out to the game, but it was almost worth it to be able to replay footage of Mumm's fend halfway through his big run near the end of the game. The Sharks player almost rotated through 180 and face planted in a fairly spectacular way. I loved it.

    Kaino going to Japan

I'm not suggesting he is in any way ready for an All Black call-up, but plenty of people believe young Sam Cane is 'truly talented'.

    Waratahs 2012

I'll take almost anything over another Matt Bourke column.

    Brumbies v Highlanders Super Rugby R5 2012

I'm glad that Jake White has stuck with Hooper at 7, but I would like to see Mowen moved to 6 so that Vaea doesn't have to start on the bench. Although Kimlin has played well at 6, I think he's more a lock and there is more than enough cover for the back-row in Fardy and Auelua without having...

    Western Force 2012

I agree with the sentiment completely, however, my only reservation would be if these young players are thrown in the deep end and then do not instantly perform at the Super Rugby level we will not only see them discarded too early, but also see them used as justification that the WA club scene...

    G&GR Fantasy Rugby Competition 2012

His five week suspension isn't going to help any either.

How does this help Australian Rugby.

Being pedantic, and drifting off topic, but the incoming changes regarding foreign players in Ireland does not include Connacht. They have an exemption due to some arrangement with the IRFU. To digress even further, the changes that apply to Ulster, Leinster and Munster seem close to unworkable.

How does this help Australian Rugby.

I think we've lost a player eligible for Australia for another player eligible for Australia. This was a contractual decision made by the Force, so I assume someone over there thinks that Lynn is the better player. Whether or not this is the right decision the last thing I want to see is more...

    Rebels v Cheetahs - Round 4 - Super Rugby 2012

Maybe 8 is where the Rebels see Dennis playing if there is any truth to the always present rumours of Dennis leaving the Tahs for Melbourne. He can play 8, looked quite good there at the end of last season. If he keeps improving then I'd say he'd be a handy replacement (although I'd prefer if...
