Perhaps the 7s games for Niue weren’t against national teams, they were against clubs or invitational teams? In which case they wouldn’t affect his eligibility. Either that or he’s padded out his resume a bit

Though he’s supposed have represented Niue in 7s - I thought that would make him ineligible for the Wallabies?

And if they don’t meet the 36 month requirement by the end of 2020 they then fall under the new 60 month eligibility requirement.

Does Slipper already have 60 caps? Might go OS if he does.

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

My memory might be playing tricks on me but I think this is about the third time this year that there was a Raiders game on TV at the same time as a Brumbies home game. Just a coincidence or a deliberate ploy by the NRL?

You have to question the accuracy of an article that says that Lolo Fakaosilea is: a) a "top-line backrower" b) still at the Brumbies

I don’t think citizenship matters as far as eligibility is concerned, it’s place of birth, ancestry or residency I believe. JP would have reset his eligibility time when he went back to SA

I suspect a major reason why blokes like McKellar, Graham and Stiles get picked are because they’re cheap. Blokes with better pedigree can command much better money OS than our super teams seem to be willing (or able?) to spend. The best hope of getting a well credentialed coach is getting...

Tim Gavel (Canberra sports journo) tweeted this: Brumbies have confirmed they approached Quade Cooper to see if he was interested in moving to Canberra but he told coach Dan McKellar that he wanted to stay in Queensland .

Folau Fainga'a's lineout throwing has been pretty ordinary. Probably good to have in the squad for development, but I'd be worried if he actually got on the field. And I can't see Lealiifano getting a call up, no matter how bare the cupboard is. He's looked right off the pace this season.

Super Rugby Round 10, Brumbies vs Jaguares - Sunday 22 April 2018

Currently raining in Canberra. So probably a dire game in front of a dire crowd.

I suspect the Raiders coming good around that time has more to do with the membership decline than the boardroom shenanigans. A lot of folk follow both teams but aren’t going to buy two memberships- they’ll choose one or the other.
