We have got to start by remembering this is rugby. Start with picking front rowers in all age groups who can scrum rather than just run the ball like League forwards. Stop importing League players straight into the Wallabies like SV , especially when it’s costing top dollars than we don’t have.

A bit like the Reds this season- if you come second in the tight five all the talent behind that can‘t save you. But there does seem good talent around in the back row and backs that gives some hope

To be fair the current crop of Reds fronrowers regularly get shown up in Hospital Cup. Perhaps prioritising their primary job (scrumming) in addition to work rate in the non glorious dirty shouldve been a consideration when selecting the Tupou supporting act for the Reds

A bit of a non- announcement. It was clear at the start of the season both the coach and players had moved on. The success or lack thereof in the remainder of the season are likely more important to Heenans future than Thorn now.

As someone mentioned in this thread, Tupou‘s dominance and brilliance papered over deficiencies in the Reds game plan and coaching. They flogged a once in a generation tighhead to death in their season of success and without him it’s been a sad struggle unfortunately.

Can’t see too many positives out of that for the Reds.

Papered over clear tight five deficiencies ( they didn’t really exist when he was monstering one side of the pack) and lack of carriers to consistently make big metres apart from HW(LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) may have been useful this year ).
