Stats are misleading at times. Reds scrum went down every time they started going backwards without consequence….clever management of a weak scrum suggesting the Heeno influence is coming through.

If that isn’t/ wasn’t the case it could be a long season for Wests.

They were all gassed because the ref never blew the whistle. Knocks on, forward passes, free for alls at breakdowns, repeated collapsing scrums….none of these seem to merit a whistle. On my couch I really enjoyed it but the players would have been completely gassed by the non stop effort

43 - 19 to Sydney University after being almost level at half time.

Unfortunately the wheels came off at the breakdown in the 2nd half for the Doggies. Some discipline issues to sort before the Hospital Cup starts but well played to Sydney Uni.

Really enjoyed that. Hardwick, Gordon and tight fives from the Rebels were excellent.
