Yep, I think many, including councils, are being way too precious with their fields. I remember playing in ankle deep mud pits. This situation has definitely got worse over the last 2-3 years. Playing some and not others also doesn’t sit well with me.

Mix up the CAS (those lucky enough to get selected) and GPS boys at the next rep level and I think we will see many CAS boys perform much better than they did today.....hopefully!

Totally agree with you that the stronger CAS schools are competitive with GPS schools and the trials show that. I do think Joeys, Scots, View and Kings are all playing a very similiar style of rugby. Joeys have changed this year a bit - Kings brutalised Joeys in the final of the last completed...

Haaa. Lambert gets on the plane and turns left, George now has to turn right. There are a lot of families (i suspect the majority) that struggle to send their boys to scots and kings. Hearing that Headmasters and wives fly first class must piss them off. Government funding is also being spent...

...we are all about to see how dominate Joeys is at rugby. There are several schools that focus on opens age sport and much less on lower age sport (as the only official comps are open age). Joeys is by far, the strongest rugby school through the age groups.

I wonder how negatively impacted Kings open rugby is by the school sending 2 rowing crews to the UK!
