    Brumbies 2022

Tamaiti Ioane is the Gungahlin No 8 and in the Rebels squad for the coming season. Maka played with the Vikings last season.

    Brumbies 2022

No real surprises in the squad announcements, unfortunately. I was expecting to see 1-2 others named from the group currently training with the team including - Corey Toole (Wing) - Patrick Maka (No 8) - Charlie Cale (Backrow) - Harry Vella (Prop) - Siave Seti (?) - Titi Nofoagatotoa (?) -...

    Brumbies 2022

I was initially quite 'meh' on Mogg's signing, however with almost every back amongst the Oz Super teams already contracted for next year, he has the experience to come in as a stop-gap for the players mentioned above and do a sufficient job. We need to remember that our 'B' backline is...

Tony Alofipo. Currently playing for Quenbeyan and trained through the pre-season as part of the Brumbies academy. He was recently selected in Oz U20 Squad. The Brumbies will still need at least 2 other inside backs before considering Alofipo.

SRAU RD 1 Western Force vs Brumbies, Perth Friday 19 Feb

Force side looks fantastic, lots of depth to finish the game. My only prediction is that it will likely take them the majority of super AU to gel. As a Brumbies fan though I'd rather be facing the Rebels first up :) Very unfortunate for Reece Tapine not to be given a run given the injuries. He...

    Rebels 2021

Fair enough, it might be a bit of a stretch given that he only went to College there, made the Oz Schools, part of the Brumbies Academy, played Oz U19/20 and had a couple of seasons with the Vikings (Colts/1sts)....

    Rebels 2021

There's 13 players in Super Rugby from Brumbies region - Hansen, Lonergan (*2), Scott, Cusack, Ross, Lloyd, McInerney, Abel, Tetera Faulkner, Holland, Wagner & Powell. Not a major number but far outweighs the population. What the Brumbies do well on is recruitment. A lot of players are brought to...

    Reds 2021

Henry had a good season with the Vikings. From the matches I watched, I felt the MacDougall medal was more a reflection of his goal kicking rather than all round game. He probably would have got a brumbies contract if they didn't have Pasitoa and BK to cover 12. My only concern with Henry...

    Brumbies 2021

From the training pics on the socials, it appears the following players are with the top squad for pre-season - Fred Kahea - Prop Callum MacDonald - Lock Luke Gersekowski - Openside Flanker Tony Alofipo - FlyHalf Rodney Iona - Fly-Half/Centre Tom Haddad - Winger Bo Abra has gone to the Force.

Big loss! Thought he was excellent last season. Good depth still exists with Cusack, Jarome Brown and Luke Reimer.

    Brumbies 2021

So it looks like we only have Vui, Fines and LLM not contracted yet for next year. I'd definitely be resigning LLM, possibly to a one year deal given his injury troubles. With Vui, he's been on the out since he arrived in the capital and we have a number of promising youngsters coming through...

Muirhead would be a good addition to any of the Super team. Is one of the wingers that just does his job without being outstanding at any facet of his game. His best attribute is his running lines. I don't see him going anywhere, regardless if TK stays or not. He's getting good game time and...

Neville has been excellent this year. I don't think its a coincidence that when both the Brumbies scrum and lineout struggled (Rebels & Waratahs matches) that Neville was missing. The impact of locks in scrummaging is often overlooked, especially through the media/commentary teams.

    Brumbies 2020

It's exciting that the Brums have lots of options in the backline. Based on performance, Kata (was everywhere) & Murihead (good lines) deserve a place in the 23 whilst Pulu & Wright have quiet games. I feel the later combo has more upside though longer term. I'd go with Powell, BK, Wright...

    Brumbies 2020

Agree that the Captain is a big decision and can't really see any easy way other than one of the front-row or a McCaffrey/Cusack. It's rare to get 60 min out of the front-row and I really think an immature team needs its first-choice captain through this period. I'd be happy with Cusack and are...

    Canberra Vikings 2019

The front row, particularly the depth appears to be the weak spot of the team. It's interesting that some of local players such as Lincoln Smith & Brendan Jimenez were not picked over Andrew Robinson & George Morseu. They have much more potential at a higher level. I'm not sure where...

    Brumbies 2020

I haven't seen any footage of Kuenzie this year but found it interesting that the Brumbies allowed him to play Club Rugby in Sydney rather than Canberra. White brought in a policy years old that everyone had to play out of a Canberra Club. For this reason I thought Kuenzie was on the way out??
