    Shute Shield 2015

The stuff in that article is exactly what I have been thinking myself for a long time.

    Shute Shield 2015

Great article in this morning's Daily Telegraph. http://www.news.com.au/sport/rugby/rugby-success-in-western-sydney-has-already-been-achieved-in-1999/story-fndpt9s1-1227427496790

Why is Marto employed as a commentator?

What's Chris Handy up to these days? It hasn't been the same since 7 lost the rights. Always loved that bloke even though he was a former Red.

    Shute Shield 2015

It still defies belief as to how Uni were able to call up their Super Rugby players just for that Grand Final when they hadn't played a single club game all season and that Grand Final was played at University Oval when Souths had finished higher than Uni on the table.

    Shute Shield 2015

Eastwood wouldn't like that though as they get a lot of their players and supporters from that part of the world.

    Shute Shield 2015

Maybe I'm still bitter about the 2012 Grand Final as per previous post. But my argument doesn't alter, clubs like Uni, Eastwood and Easts are pillaging the west and clubs like Penrith and Parramatta can't compete.

    Shute Shield 2015

It is it any wonder loig and wendyball are fast leaving rugby for dead when the NSWRU doesn't give a shit about the game west of Epping. It's time for Uni to leave the Shute Shield and replace the Stars as an NRC team and the talent spread more evenly among the Shield clubs. Folau especially...

Sydney Stars . NRC Official Team Thread

It may be time for Sydney University to field a stand alone NRC team. They're damaging the Shute Shield by hoarding all the talent for themselves and they are effectively an NRC team playing in suburban club rugby. Time to cut the Stars and have a Sydney Uni NRC team.

    Shute Shield 2015

Something has to be done about the Shute Shield now. This is fast becoming a...

    Shute Shield 2015

I agree, Folau and Beale in particular should be Two Blues and Dennis should be playing for the Emus. With the booming population, in particular the Islander communities, the Emus and Parramatta should be a helluva lot stronger than they are. Clubs like University, Randwick, Eastwood and to...

    Shute Shield 2015

I am just fed up of seeing Penrith and Parramatta constantly uncompetitive. Seeing the Emus get 90 put on them by the 7th placed team is not a good look for the game. The competition was becoming a joke at one stage with University occupying the top spots and Penrith still occupying the...

    Shute Shield 2015

I really worry about the future of our game when I see teams like Penrith get 90 put on them. Something really needs to be done about rugby in Western Sydney when teams like Penrith and Parramatta are constantly uncompetitive. It's just plain wrong when teams like Sydney University can field...

RIP Test Rugby on the Gold Coast

I know it will never happen on a regular basis with TV being king, more day games on a Sunday afternoon or a Saturday afternoon would be nice. Crowds always seem to enjoy the afternoon games and it promotes more open rugby as the ball isn't as slippery due to the night dew especially in winter.

Western Sydney Rams . NRC Official Team Thread

While I will be following the NRC this season, It will probably mean I won't have a team. I just can't bring myself to go for a Western Sydney team.

Western Sydney Rams . NRC Official Team Thread

Even Parramatta is a hike for people down here RF. I will probably end up supporting the Rams even though I am not happy that Souths have aligned themselves with a Western Sydney team. It takes forever and a day to get out there as it is since I am studying out there on Thursday and Fridays...

    National Rugby Championship 2014

There are plenty of people in this forum who know a lot more than I do but how is the Greater Sydney team going to work? It's almost effectively a Western Sydney team plus Souths. With the large geographical distance between the west and the Southern Districts areas it seems a bit strange to...

    Shute Shield 2013

I've been wondering that for years, mate. I'm still livid that Uni was able to field an almost Super Rugby strength team against Souths in last year's Grand Final yet clubs like Parramatta and Penrith are down to the bare bones of their backside. There have been times where the Emus get 80...

What do you make of Benji Marshal to rugby?

Looking likely that Benji will be heading to Auckland next season. http://www.news.com.au/sport/rugby-gold/super-rugbys-blues-looking-likely-home-for-benji-marshall-due-to-his-desire-to-represent-new-zealand/story-fndpt9s1-1226683898535 BENJI Marshall's allegiance to New Zealand means the...

I was thinking that myself. We do look very strong this week with our Super Rugby players back.
