HJ - I can find the competition page, and have previously used the icons to look at team lists from the previous week's games, but have had no luck finding the team lists for the upcoming round.

Error was definitely not yours, so no need to rush off to the optometrist just yet! There must have been an error in the original submission to the NSWRU, which was then corrected fairly promptly.

I don't have an issue with the identification of acts of foul play, W88, regardless of the team to which the perpetrator belongs - and they should all be punished accordingly. If the New #3 did what you're suggesting he did, then you should ask your school to pursue it further.

    Sydney Colts - 2016

Result in 2nd grade Colts match between Souths & Warringah is incorrect - Souths won 8-5 in a thriller. Warringah had a kickable penalty to level the game with only seconds left, but bravely chose the 'Japan Gambit' and went for the line-out and the possible win. The Souths defence was solid...

You need to sort out where you stand on this issue VBL - in post #374 you said that what happened as wrong, and yet now you're saying it was accidental and only deserved a penalty! I've watched the video, and the ref clearly blows his whistle for the knock-on, and yet the Waverley prop clearly...

Yep - pretty sure! I said they weren't focusing on rugby in their prep for last year's HoR - didn't say they weren't thinking about it at all. On a separate note, I'm still confident that New will back up and get another premiership in 2016 with a solid core of talented players

I can't help you with that, I'm afraid NIS - my knowledge of affairs at Newington isn't current anymore, now that youngest son has left 'the College' and is trying his hand at Colts. I'll certainly be following this thread with interest, though, and will be particularly keen to see if my...

Not sure why you'd think SJC was the only school whose rugby preparation was affected by athletics..... From memory, the Newington 1st XV that played in the trial against Oakhill last year contained only 4 players (Serhon, Mannix, Long & Kuenzle) from the team that would go on to share the...

Which Clubs are the Class of 2015 going to?

Wasn't Kellaway playing 1st grade for Randwick in this year's Shute Shield? In addition to leading the Australian U20s recently?

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

They certainly could! But I suspect that they were selected on the basis of their scrummaging first, and running second - although the tight-head prop could just as easily have played at #10 with those passing skills, and the hooker could be an outside back with his pace.

I think I posted the original version of this in the wrong thread...... Unfortunately, it seems that many of the GPS schools favour 'running' props over 'scrummaging' props, and I wonder how much this approach has contributed to the problem. The emphasis at Colts and Grade seems to swing back...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Unfortunately, it seems that many of the GPS schools favour 'running' props over 'scrummaging' props, and I wonder how much this approach has contributed to the problem. The emphasis at Colts and Grade seems to swing back to scrummaging as the priority and running as a secondary skill, but is it...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2015

I thoroughly agree with you about Hoopert - I heard good things about him from someone who packed against him in a trial at the start of the season, and then from what I saw of him in the National Championships, I expected him to be the starting loose-head for the top team. He was outstanding in...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2015

If the number of tries his outside men (i.e. Taukamo, Simonsson & Loga-Tarogi) scored during the season is anything to go by, Kennewell's ability to move the ball on shouldn't be questioned. The disappointing thing about the game against Samoan Schools was the lack of support for him when he...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2015

^^^ I hope the whispers are correct, because Hawkins and Strang were both outstanding in the Barbarians game. I thought Hoopert had a really strong game as well, and it'd be nice to see him rewarded with a bench spot in the main game on Friday.

Which Clubs are the Class of 2015 going to?

He'd look good in Sthn Districts gear too, but, sadly, he seems to have his heart set on playing with his local club.......

Which Clubs are the Class of 2015 going to?

It was bad enough when I thought he'd play with Randwick, but there seems to be a fair bit of talk that some of the tall timber from Scots and Joeys are heading to Coogee, so maybe he's decided to head elsewhere to avoid the selection battles......of course, there's always a place at Sthn...

I loved watching the video of Wright terrorising defenders in the 7s earlier in the year - brilliant stuff! But when I showed it to a colleague at work who has coached junior league, he agreed that Wright's attacking prowess can't be questioned but wondered if his defence would be up to scratch...

Are you forgetting that the GAGR selectors aren't actual selectors, but contributors like us, or that the suggestion that Helu needed to work on his fitness, discipline and scrummaging came from a contributor (namely me!)? And could you at least accept the fact that a strategy that achieves a...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2015

Unfortunately I don't possess a Newington tie, but if I did, there'd be very little evidence of blubbering on it (a little bit of champagne perhaps, but no blubber) - and the so-called 'game strategy' clearly worked so brilliantly that the Newington front-row was still fit enough to have their...
