EOYT 2016 - Possibles, probables and general banter

Because he's potentially special? You can count the number of special Wallabies on the fingers of one hand, and still have some left over for counting other things. Unless we mean 'special'.

My money's on Speight and DHP to provide the fashionable combination of strike runner and 2nd fullback, especially since Cheika is obviously searching for a gas man. Hodge at 12 or on the bench.

EOYT 2016 - Possibles, probables and general banter

That's a wee bit hyperbolic, in a year when ten new Wallabies have debuted, none of them from the NRL.

That's pretty tough. Kuridrani in form is one of the most damaging 13s in the game. Hodge is an incisive runner, although he hasn't demonstrated it yet in his (very) short international career.

The Awful Truth About The ARU's Financial Position

There's a lot of talk here about the Australian unions "making a profit", as though it's a simple matter of costs vs. income, but that ignores the true role of the unions, which is to fund the sport at the grass roots. In 2015, the QRU put >$8m into grass roots rugby, while making a "loss" of...

I think your memory fails you, Scoey. Folau was near enough the best Australian rugby back from about his first Super Rugby game, in which he scored two tries and handed off a third. Go back and read the reviews on this site. RugbyReg will correct me, but I remember he also won the MOTM points...

Wales vs Australia, 5 November 2016, (1:30am 6 November AEDT) @ Millenium Stadium

Getting the world best player under the high ball (and one of our main counter-attacking players) to defend at 12 would be insane. It isn't his ability to catch them but his ability to beat three players after he catches them that makes him a threat. It forces teams not to put up contestable...

    Who is the GAGR troll?

Maybe it's like the one-electron theory, in which all electrons are the same electron, whizzing back and forth in time. There's only one other Internet poster.

It's blindingly obvious that Folau defends at 15 as an offensive strategy, to limit opponents kicking options. The risk of Folau taking the ball coming forward at speed and then splitting the defence virtually rules out contestable midfield kicks.

Nah, I'm Groucho. I lost my password. Or I might just be saying that.

    Who is the GAGR troll?

It has always amazed me that anyone has the time for 'concern trolling'. There must be some kind of twisted psychological payback. That said, it would be quite amusing if the current fashion for self-indulgent moaning among Australian rugby fans online was all the work of a single Kiwi troll...
