For the record chaps. There was only 11 points in the NC V BSHS 13A game last year, so the result on Saturday doesn't surprise me that much. Many State High teams are inconsistent week to week, let alone year to year! My info tells me big improvers in 14As this year will be GT and NC. The...

Uni missing some old heads - plenty of talent out there, but in a few games this year they have channeled Richard Graham at key times and taken some bad options

Well done HJ. Good to see the Mountain Men give TSS a run!! Beware the trip up the range this season it seems..

GWMe, I have heard her name bandied around as a possible replacement for Richard Graham....

Well said Blue & White. As a serial tipper on this forum, I have been talking about TSS in the same breath as Nudgee and BBC since last season. This could be one of the closest First XV competitions in recent memory. Call me silly, but we could well see a shared premiership this year.

Thanks for the clarity RR. Obviously Nudgee will do it like they always do. Talent, hard work and no lads coming in on rugby scholarships. Good to know.

I agree, the Wests Piggies were good. Lynch the 6 and the 2 locks were solid. The 13 has to get his hands on the ball more - he broke tackles just looking at blokes. If Greene was still there they would be 3 places higher on the table. Their kicking game is not wonderful at all.

Check the other thread - that Hugh J started....good pics from the mighty HJ too.

No names from me RR, but i have heard from a current NC coaching staff about a number of 14s coming in. Up to 6 I hear. Not sure how "hard work" gets you a rugby scholarship, Nudgee has been handing them out since Mike Tyson was bad.

Too early to say any side is out of form - no one has had a proper trial except BBC, until the Rep Circus yesterday... State High will rattle the odd cage this year don't worry...

Genia, who are these "great" 14A BBC coaches you talk of? From what I have heard at NC they are pretty confident of giving these guys are good run this year and have thrown some considerable Nudgee Bingo Money at the problem, so they'd wanna be good.

Good intel BAG. Looks like the "Barker Effect" has taken hold. New boys in 16s, strong recruitment in 13s. Red & Black are well and truly fighting fire with fire now. Hopefully what has made GT a great rugby school in the past, (they play for each other and are well coached), does't go out the...

Nice stir BAG. That will have the Toowong Lexus Drivers confused! But let's be honest. BBC were never a hope of a premiership last year and only the most deluded of their stoic supporters thought so. The Bingo Benefactors are hot, hot favorites, closely followed by the Glowmesh Set. BBC could...

Bad Dream, I get it and I agree with you, but it's part of the game now. Plenty of good Leagies have graced a GPS First XV Jersey in Brisbane and Sydney over the years. The GPS Premiers last year had one of the better ones to go through in recent times. The good thing is we get to watch them on...

State High got Wally Lewis in 40 years ago, nothing new there!

Great to read this, but also bitterly disappointing at the same time. Those bloody, Mosman, private school, pencil pushers at the ARU, need to get out of their long lunches at Rockpool and spend some time at training on a Tuesday night at Norths and Saturday mornings at Logan City watching the...

Thats probably not a bad result for the Cow-Chasers. They wouldn't have played a game before that (except for possibly a quick punch up with Downlands). Newington are playing the first round of GPS in a week and a half, so they are well ahead in the preparation stakes. T-Ba will be their usual...

Maybe Nudgee just doing everything in their power to avoid the 40 point touch ups they got in the 13As by BBC and Ippy last year....

TSS building nicely. Up to 8 or 9 players back from a very good First XV last year. Nudgee with 2 x 2 year First XV players back for year 3, one of them is possibly the best player in the competition. BBC apparently survived Japan with only a few concussions and obviously have some serious...
